Bollocks, lack of revenue generation opportunities linked to being tenants to London Wasps will restrict City's ability to compete long after Sisu have gone.
Wasps didn't create that situation. We were always tenants. They bought something that was for sale which the club had plenty of time to buy if they were serious.
Their presence in the City and their ownership of the stadium is not the biggest barrier to us being successful. People are not apathetic towards the club because of Wasps.

I was thinking about this a few days ago and in my own head I realised that we were lucky that it was a Rugby club buying the stadium, if it had been another Football club then we may have disappeared by now. At the time ccc/higgs jumped at the wasps offer compared to the Sisu one so i assume they would have taken anybodies higher offer and it could well have been a football club

I said I stand to be corrected, so point out what's inacurrate in my post. The grassroots community stuff isn't up for debate, though. I volunteer at a rugby club and have see enough first hand to know the effect their presence is having.
Tell yourself whatever you need to. What I desperately want is my football club functioning in a way that means my kids can fall in love with them and grow up supporting them the same as I did.

I was coming back from Cov’s away game at Richmond in October and pub by Euston packed with CCFC fans on way back from Charlton away, asked a 3 blokes how we played etc, was asked what I’d been doing I replied “been to Richmond to watch Cov Rugby” all 3 responded “Wasps!?”
We will see.

Because football and rugby are completely different and can't be compared for "match day experience" and if CCFC ever started running match days like w***s do (like the Accrington game) as more than a once a season thing, it'd be the day it'd lose me as a fan. The atmosphere at w***s matches are dreadful (never been but everybody I know who has says it's shit) as was the atmoshepre at the Accrington game. If you want to sit not singing, eating popcorn and acting proper, go and watch w***s. The edgy atmosphere is what makes football so special. The issue that Wasps' move has caused the football club isn't the stadium ownership etc., it's that casual sports fans are being offered a better social thing or family day out than the City.
The way they run match days and engage with the community incl. local clubs made Cov Rugby up its game in that area and they've seen the benefit of copying that approach. People have started going there that weren't going before.
The football club, like most football clubs, took its fans for suckers for decades assuming they'd keep turning up irrespective of the quality of the experience. Now that an alternative is on offer at the same location, they're playing catch up.
I understand the urge to blame Wasps for the mess we're in but it's just using them as a scapegoat. It's like the argument people make about big clubs 'deserving' to be in higher divisions; it's sh*te. You are where you deserve to be and the club did this to itself.
Don't misconstrue this as criticism of the fan base, die hards, casuals or stay aways. I'm just of the opinion that if you blame someone or something else you miss what you're doing wrong and don't deal with the root cause.
