I think we can all see the end game now. Sisu will hold onto CCFC whilst Wasps' future at the Ricoh is uncertain. Without significant improvement, it seems Wasps may well end up selling the Ricoh back to Sisu/CCFC and then heading off back down the M40 to groundshare with MK Dons, which is much more within their catchment area. I doubt the recent news from the new Premiership investors will be of huge long term benefit, as any extra cash it generates will presumably find its way into the players's pockets. If anything, the Ricoh is a millstone around their neck as the non-sport aspect (hotel, casino, conference centre etc) seems to leak money rather than add value. I have no idea if this can be revived but no progress appears to have been made.
No you got caught up fiddling the numbers and it got pointed out, ironic.Right lads, I was enjoying the debate, but we got bit bogged down in numbers, name calling and the questing of my support of the City, that doesn't take us forward. Anyway, big day tomorrow so I'll leave it here. My points were genuinely aimed at contrasting the idea that the City as a whole hates Wasps, and that City fan's hate Wasps, I'm not sure that's true, Happy Christmas, PUSB.
“Chortle” ...if Viz created a character called smug Wasps twat that’s how they’d have him speaking. Lifelong City fan my arse.Chortle - you can't imagine the money Wasps pay me to counter negative publicity on a Sky Blues Forum on a Saturday night!
20k average?? Haven't seen any evidence yet (every pic I've seen from every home game this season) that suggests they've had more than 10 or 11k tops.Phew... lot to work through here... written as a Coventry City Fan, man and boy.... and a Wasps season ticket holder..
Given what we know, Wasps aren't going anywhere, they (we?) are heavily invested into the Ricoh (which is looking promising next year) and given the investment into Old Leamingtonians, no plans to move back to London or go bust, despite what the noisy few on here may make you believe. They might even be looking at a 13M windfall, pretty desperate times eh?
Simple one this: 4th in the top flight league with a game in hand (roughly) - not exactly a club in distress.
Sunday (as of Wednesday) is the biggest gate receipt they've had - I suspect they chose their words carefully, probably to keep the "my mate at work has a free ticket and I don't know anyone that has ever bought one" quiet, wise up, they're not a charity.
There's plenty of people in the City that regularly go to the Wasps. Guess what.. they don't post on here that often, but take a walk around the City Centre, however much you are disgusted by it, people are wearing Wasps colours (as they are CCFC colours), and the hatred of people wearing a Wasps coat at a CCFC game borders on... dunno... you work it out.
My genuine, naive advice is embrace Wasps, let them know the CCFC fanbase would like them as partners, convince them to work against SISU, not organise a 100 strong protest at a Wasps game where you will be drowned out by a 20K (average) Wasps home crowd, come on, this isn't primary school.
Finally, don't get me started on taking great delight in "throwing my wasps tickets in the bin that they gifted my daughters dance school" - seriously, this is business, it's a loss leader, maybe one person will enjoy it, and that leads to the family going, and they buy a few beers... please, be sensible.
There we go... go hate... fill your boots... I'm looking forward to tomorrow...
Have not heard about this MK Dons rumour until now, how ironic if true that two franchise sports teams may end up playing there!. The quicker Wasps fuck off or go bankrupt the better as far as I'm concerned!!I think we can all see the end game now. Sisu will hold onto CCFC whilst Wasps' future at the Ricoh is uncertain. Have you got any links? Sounds like Jeremy KyleTwitter is hilarious, Wasps fans moaning about the freeloaders making too much noise while the freeloaders moan about the lack of atmosphere.
And everyone morning about how badly organised everything is and how badly Wasps are playing.
Ah usually just paste the link. Not sure how to copy the twitter links on my phone, just stick waspsrugby in to Twitter.
Do you want me to get you a freebie?Shame 1 win in 12.
12 months til they ‘sell out’ again.
Not good for them at all. Wycombe, despite not being in London, wasn’t too far to go buts it’s a bit of a trek to keep coming up here.I do feel sorry for the actual fans though, must be pissing them off.

Seems some of those who did make the trip every game to start off with are picking and choosing games now, can’t blame them really. They’ve been treated appallingly.
Same as Man Utd "fans" having selfies with Lucas Moura after he'd just put 2 past them in a 0-3 loss at home. Nothing related to supporting a team, just looking for their perfect social media life and likes on Instagram. 90% of these sort of people couldn't even explain the rules to you.Apparently bt sport let slip that one of their players is leaving too!
I do feel sorry for the actual fans though, must be pissing them off. They seem to think the issue is the coach.
The ones who think that because they now support wasps and are superior because they are sat by Tarquin and Henry, they can get to fuck.
What I don't get is why people in wasps clothes are taking smiley selfies after a loss and bad performance saying great day out? Have just been spanked and on a run worse than us, it's as if the rugby match isn't that much to them.
That's pretty much how it comes across. Imagine asking the Walsall player for a selfie and posting "had an amazing day" after that Walsall match.Same as Man Utd "fans" having selfies with Lucas Moura after he'd just put 2 past them in a 0-3 loss at home. Do they have Mexican waves? It’s ok, im busy supporting our City’s 144 year old team.
At the game getting selfies with the Bath playersSizzler where are you?
I bet he is not that depressed that Wasps have lost today. Why would he be - hes only been watching them for a couple of seasons - it takes years to get that gut-wrenching feeling following a loss, You need to follow your team through thick & thin and be bonded to them through heritage and generations of your family watching them and passing that bug to you as you then do to your children!Sizzler where are you?
Crying in his real ale with Tarquin and JulianSizzler where are you?
Do they have Mexican waves?
The guy was saying a protest at one of their games wouldn't do anything. Look at the hassle a Mexican wave causes.
Their fans kicking off because somebody was trying to start one. What’s happened RE Mexican waves?
Can't stand Bath, but more power to their elbows today!Great to see Bath, a real rugby club, win.
I don't feel sorry for the 20,000 tourists who turned up today with their free plastic flag and selfie sticks.
