Quite possibly but that was for Wasps lawyers to sort out at the time. If they decided it wasn't possible and took the risk anyway its not on to then look to the football club to bail them out.Wouldn’t the council indemnifying wasps be illegal state aid?
That would be my thinking. Surely the only chance of a deal is if CCC indemnify Wasps against the potential outcome of the EC complaint and influence them to complete the deal with CCFC, on the basis that the chances of the EC finding against them is a long shot at best.
Not sure if you are inferring that's a conversation taking place or just hopeful that it might be?
is this supposed to say "under valued"? Can't make sense of it otherwise
Bloody hell. Its like a couple splitting up and then deciding to get back together only to find out that he slept with her sister straight after the breakup.

And joined in.It's 2019, she watched.
Me too. A few posters on here suggested it a couple of months ago and it was brushed off as something they'd never do. Interestingly those posters have now also changed their goalposts.Surprised me as well, certainly didn't expect SISU to sign up for anything like that.
Null and void now, I guess. It's also interesting that SISU appeared to have signed something to call off the legals they were actively pushing too apparently. I didn't even expect that.
Thanks Canadian! The part about distorting competition was what i was unsure about whether the Ricoh deal would pass the test ...
"The most important aspect of this last part of the test is whether the selective advantage conferred on the undertaking has the potential to distort competition. There is no requirement for an actual distortion to be proved. As a general rule therefore, this part of the test is easy to satisfy and more often than not the selective advantage will be found to have the potential to distort competition."
Interesting that the authors (a very well respected law firm, if that isn't an oxymoron) cite disposal of land or buildings at below market value as an example of state aid.
Just have to wait and see if the EC take it beyond their current preliminary investigation, at which point Reeves et al and Eastwood will need a trip to the bathroom, i should imagine! Fingers crossed!!
Certainly seems that the more you read about the differences between the way these things are handled in the UK and EU the more you can see why Wasps and the council are desperate for it to not progress.Just have to wait and see if the EC take it beyond their current preliminary investigation, at which point Reeves et al and Eastwood will need a trip to the bathroom, i should imagine! Not half as long as recovering from the sale to waspsLet's face it...SISU knew exactly what they were up to. It is another desperate effort to get their hands on the stadium.
Even if there is found to be wrongdoings...& they get the Ricoh, I think the damage they have done already to relations with all that matter in owning it, the fanbase & what I think is now the tarnished reputation of CCFC...it will take generations for the club to recover properly imo

Storm incoming. The actions of the franchise are far far worse compared to anything that SISU have done.

I'll be throwing fivers at joy like a stripper if our keeper starts any of thatNah, couple of wins or a screamer first game back at the Ricoh and nobody will give a fuck. Even a commanding collected cross from our new keeper would do it.

It depends how much traction there is on the stage to be honest. If you go in later on they are slippy so you can get a decent slide distance.I thought you two footed strippers early doors, to let them know you are there, for a discount?

I'm more Vinnie Jones than Jackie Chan to be fair.If you get the right momentum you can grab the pole, swing back around and get enough distance to crunch the barkeep as well.
Eeewwwwwwwww!

To be fair it is titled "wasps pull out" so every time I've seen it I've been thinking wildlife documentaryThis thread took a dump. Brilliant stuff..
It would be naive to think that Wasps Lawyers wouldn't check it all over first.
Pretty sure it would be even more silly then thatLike SISU doing due diligence on CCFC?
I think I want sisu to “get their hands on the Ricoh”. Is that wrong?Let's face it...SISU knew exactly what they were up to. It is another desperate effort to get their hands on the stadium.

If wasps are ordered to pay money back to the council it means they owe it to the council tax payers of Coventry.
Why would any Coventrian want an out of town rugby club to have guarantees against reimbursing us what they owe?
Normally the answer to that is there's no case to answer.
Ok, fair enough, OK do a deal with the club then.
