This is spot on. When either Sheaf or Eccles receive the ball the process is control it, take a touch, take the unnecessary touch, slow down to walking pace, roll to Thomas. Then repeat. Neither fizz the ball about or consistently move at a pace that doesn’t allow the opposition to set up completely. Lampard alluded to it in his post match comments.
Are people saying Bidwell was “great defensively” because of that one tackle? He got done constantly and is awful past the halfway line. Some of his passing was laughable.

Personally though he got run ragged for first 15 minutes and then got 'better' but wasn't great. If Dasilva backed off for the first goal as much as Bidwell did, this forum would be raging.
