FFS It is common knowledge , explained on numerous posts that the maths do not and never will add up. No way will SISU FC get a quarter of the fans going to Northampton. They will continue to charge their "management fees" etc.etc. and keep piling on debt , from whichever part of their tangled web of companies they choose. Another administration will soon follow ,along with the points deduction. The "team" will not have any investment and IMO they are using the club to wipe their slates clean from their other companies under the SISU banner , leading to an eventual, liquidation.

If anyone feels like giving money away to a ruthless,unethical hedge fund , by all means do so , but IMO it will all go into the bottomless pit that certain individuals are fleecing.

Once you go there that is it, there is no way back to Coventry. SISU told lie after lie, why trust them now. Go to Sixfields and you are taking part in the destruction of OUR Club. I would rather shove a red hot poker up my arse than give SISU a single penny more.

Indeed. However, while we're talking costs, a return from Coventry to Northampton on the train is £6.50 with a railcard and the station is about a mile's walk from the football ground.

I hear what you are saying Otis, and of course everyone has to make their own decision on this matter.
My question to those people would be though: "Why do you still consider this as your own club?" Surely if it is playing in Northampton, it is not Coventry. It might still carry the name of Coventry, but it has nothing to do with Coventry, and even if this mythical new stadium gets built, it won't be in Coventry. So why are fans of Coventry still supporting a club that is not Coventry??????????

I think I stated quite clearly that if they take the club out of Coventry and then many years down the road move into a new stadium that is not in Coventry, then it is not a Coventry club and I will not support it.
What part of that do you not understand? So to answer your question, no, I would not advocate attending away matches. I would no longer be a supporter of that non-Coventry football team. My hope would be a Phoenix club that I could support.

I can see why you say that, but does it stop us being referred to Coventry City FC, Does our heritage and History suddenly vanish because we aren't in Coventry no more, do the players stop trying to win games for the fans and the clubs name?

No to all the above and that's why it's such a difficult decision for many including moir.

I don't quite agree.

I think it will feel in some ways like it is not still our club, but it still will be our club.

I think that feeling would wane over the years though and if we were at Northampton 4 years down the line I can well see any embers of loyalty dying away.

For me I will tune into the games on CWR and will still follow CCFC. It will be as an armchair fan though only.

Well the current formula for making millions is:

1. Don't sell any season tickets.

2. Put the club merchandise in a shitty stall outside a supermarket.

3. Don't sign up a club sponsor.

4. Don't reveal the new kit for fans to buy.

5. Move the team outside of the city most of its supporters identify with and have followed the club in for 130 years.

6. Move the academy away from a perfectly good facility to spite a charity.

What a concrete strategy.

I see your point Otis, but it is hard to feel an affinity to a club no longer in its rightful home. It's not like we have been evicted either. The parallels to Wimbledon a few years ago are extremely worrying.

It's a complete and utter humiliation when we haven't been forced out of Coventry. It's just one humiliation too far for me and so I just can't take an interest in it-not because I refuse to, but because I can't share any affinity with such a ridiculous enterprise. I support Coventry because the team represents the city which is what I will always have an affinity with.

We have a big game against Wolves if we were doing well and we'd get 20,000 easy at the Ricoh.

This season it can only be 7,600 max.

It doesn't change history but it does change the future. To my mind it's at least 3 years where kids attending their first match won't happen. That's a cultural change isn't it and not one undone easily.

I absolutely agree with both of you and it is wrong, but it's so hard to try and tear yourself away, I really want to support the club, fact is I don't know what the best way to do that if we move to Northampton.

It's that kind of loyalty which SISU hope to exploit to try and justify this insanity-I prefer to see not going as tough love which is harsh but necessary to try and secure a CCFC for future generations to enjoy.

Well, there were two strategies that I had in mind, but they are linked.

The first is that being enacted by our owners.

If you believe them (and I guess that it's possible that there is still someone out there who does):

• they have no alternative but to leave the Ricoh,
• they have funding in place to see them through the next X years (where X is whichever number TF has in mind at any given time)
• they will build a new stadium in (well, innish...) Coventry within 3 years

So for a moment let's forget the incredible (and I use the word in its literal sense) way that they managed negotiations with ACL and let's forget that last summer TF told us that SISU had guaranteed funding for 3 years, only to tell us that we were on the verge of liquidation a few months back. Let's just dwell on the new stadium.

Do you really believe that SISU are going to build a new stadium? Don't you think that it's far more likely that this is simply a ploy to persuade ACL that SISU mean business and to force ACL (and/or their owners) to offer a bargain basement price?

Now some will turn a blind eye to any ethical considerations herein and suggest that anything that gets a better deal for the club must be good.

However - firstly, it seems probable to me that SISU's negotiating style may have so alienated ACL et al, that any deal that would be to SISU's liking, will simply be a step too far for the vendors. Secondly, even if this were to happen, I'm afraid that there will be no benefit to the club. SISU will just package up their new asset and sell it for the maximum price they can.

Now the obvious course of action in the current situation would be for SISU to sell the club for whatever they can get for it (which on any rational valuation, won't be much) - but in the forums TF explained that they wouldn't do that, because they thought that they were at the "bottom of the business cycle".

So now to the linked strategy - We have to persuade TF and his mistress that they are far from the bottom of the business cycle. We have to persuade them that if they stay, they will look back on this current time as a land of milk and honey. We have to persuade them that if they follow this disasterous course their revenue will dry up and they will have to dip into their own pockets to fund the business (real funding, not AVRO interest and inflated management charge type funding).

Perhaps then they will get the message, will sell for what they can and perhaps we will have the chance of a new start.

Just started taking my two grand kids, we won't be going to Sixfields. Dread to think who they will start to support.
