Well, the honeymoon period is well and truly over (2 Viewers)

But I still have faith he will turn out to be our best manager for years. Still think we are in with a shout with the JPT and play offs but if it all goes tits up then hopefully next season is going to be an exciting one!

Not a big fan of Stuart Linnell at all usually it has to be said, but he quite rightly pointed out that just one week ago all was rosy in the garden and we were saying how brilliantly we were doing after beating Sheff Utd. 2-1 away.

Two games later and the honeymoon period is over?

Doesn't make sense.

Otis, as a Sky Blue you must feel the deep disappointment of the last few days? The feel good factor has diminished somewhat which I think most would agree with. One minute we are looking forward to two potential games at Wembley then reality slaps us in the face. We are still in with a shout and I'm not slagging anybody off but as long as Sisu play ball next season could be the one

For those of you who know their sky blue history, this season it very much like 1962-63-- almost there but not quite.
when we went out of the fa cup at the quarter final stage losing 3-1 to the winners Man U we sold our top scorer Terry Bly and replaced him with George Hudson.
the 1963-64 season we were champions.
All we need is players around clarke to share the goals, you can't rely on one player.
in 1963-64 we had 13 different scorers of which 5 got into double figures,Farmer (midfield)got 11,humphries (Winger)11,Rees (winger) 15,Hale (forward) 17 and Hudson 28.
each player should get his fair share of goals. For the amount of corners we get Wood should be scoring more than he does also delivery has to be better too.

We are conceding sloppy goals which is definitely a concern, the flipside is that we are creating a hell of a lot but putting nothing away. Both together are not a great cocktail. This COULD be just a bad patch which all teams go through but we lost ground again today when everyone else slipped up.

We are just not making it easy for ourselves at present!

It's such fine margins though isn't it.

Disallowed goal today, the hitting of the bar. Baker hitting the post on Tuesday.

We could have quite easily won both games. Had we put in two inept performances I may have been agreeing with you and be thinking maybe the bubble has burst, but truth is we should have got something out of both fixtures for sure.

Had we done so there would be no talk whatsoever of ends of honeymoon periods.

Fine margins and we so very nearly got something out of both games. We know if we continue to play like we did on Tuesday and for the most part today, that we are going to win quite a few games of the remaining fixtures.

29 shots Tuesday, 19 today.

We keep up that ratio and we are going to be winning an awful lot of games that are left.

I don't see there's been a honeymoon period as such.
We didn't immediately start winning as soon as MR took over.
It's been a gradual turn of events, leading to us winning regularly.
Our home form has been patchy all season.
I don't think losing one league game after all the great results of late is any kind of crisis.

Sometimes I wonder about the IQ of posters on here. I don't care about your spelling, grammar or punctuation. It's the lack of reading and understanding that winds me up

Agree with most of that but goals win games not chances or possession and we didn't score in the last two crucial games

Yes, true. Just saying we didn't play poorly these last two games and the whisker of a post or bar could have made all the difference.

Against Preston Clarke scored but was offside and it wasn't given. Today we scored, but offside was given.

Such tiny margins.

I know goals win games, but if we continue with the above ratio we will have no trouble scoring on a regular basis.

Was never meant to be a negative thread just twisted by a few struggling with the English language. I still have faith

It did actually take Robins some time to get our form respectable, so I don't think there has been a real honeymoon spell. Home form has always been suspect and I don't think we'll see the full benefits of his management till next season.

We had 19 shots today but most were potshots or half chances. I can only remember the disallowed goal, Clarke rounding the keeper and stopping and Elliott's when he pulled it wide as the only 3 decent/clearcut chances we had.

Err ... did we not hit the bar then?

Yeah that was a good shot but I would class it as a half chance that Elliott made for himself. Even if you include that you could argue that Yeovil had nearly as many good chances with their goal, the one-on-one and that chance near the end. They didn't have as many half chances or potshots though.

The shots on goal stat is a bit misleading. I mean when I played I had lots of "shots on goal" but they were mainly shite :)

A honeymoon period generally doesn't last the best part of half a year. It suggests that this is more a bad patch than a return to norm.

Whilst I don't think saying the honeymoon period is over is the right wording, this is certainly Robins first real test as manager since early on in his reign. Things have generally been rocky and inconsistent since after the MK Dons game

Another reason to hate Sisu as if they had got shot of lardy ass in the close season like anyone who does not do their job decently we may be in a better position.
