An audience with Grendel?
So that would fill the exhibition room what about the stadium?
It's not big enough.
Why the assumption the stadium has to be used regularly? Given that it's part of a complex how much is it actually costing when not in use? It may well be that the value of having just occasional events there outweighs the cost of maintaining it. Or would people rather the knocked it down so there was zero chance of us ever returning there?
What does it take to replace the 'profit' from 23-25 football matches?
less hent £100,000
less F&B £200,000
plus Pitch Maintenance £150,000
less hire of boxes & £100,000
less hotel revenue £150,000
ermm... maybe as much as £1M
Is this being achieved?
F&B and hotel revenue (isn't that DeVere anyway?) would still come in for non footballing events. You could argue it will increase as some events will be all day / multi day and I think some of the hotel rooms were unable to be used on match days. Not sure about hire of boxes, does that come to CCFC under ticketing revenue or are they sold by ACL across all events? The latest rent offer was £100K so you can take it that is an affordable rate for ACL to offer therefore is the only shortfall they need to make up. Even then you're making the assumption that the £100K was needed to break even.
Fact is we won't know for a long time as the type of events that will come in book 12 - 24 months in advance so to be fair to ACL if they can just about break even for the next couple of years the future would be looking very good. They certainly don't seem to be in a panic and seem to be picking up additional events so if I had to take a guess I would say they'll do just fine without CCFC. Not saying CCFC moving out is ideal or leads to a huge increase in revenue but I don't think it's going to put them out of business.
At least ACL file accounts so we should be able to find out when they next file how things are going!
It's not big enough.
