If you can Houch listen to my Rockblock on Saturday ? Bet one or two tracks will be to your liking ? I love rock music but do enjoy other genres. Soul, Blues, Bit of Reggae, classical. A mate loves the music of Ry Cooder and borrowed me a live CD of his and its great.I'm currently listening to some fabulous stuff from the "Stax" label. Artists such as Otis Redding, Carla Thomas, Sam & Dave, Booker T, The Staple Singers etc. I have an album of 28 Stax Trax.
Stax in my opinion was a far superior label to Tamla Motown. Also another top label was the "Atlantic" label. Trouble was, in those days, Berry Gordy was the Simon Cowell of the day and could force his Motown label acts to the top of the charts, killing off great stars of real soul and Northern Soul (which is my favourite genre).
Is Planet Rock the actual station BBR? Not a huge follower of radio other than local stuff and Radio 2 but if I can tweak the dials and find it, I will.If you can Houch listen to my Rockblock on Saturday ? Yes Planet Rock radio. You can get it on digital radio . A mate of mine goes to Sky T.V. to listen I think. But for me I just tune in to the radio. Is Planet Rock the actual station BBR? Not a huge follower of radio other than local stuff and Radio 2 but if I can tweak the dials and find it, I will.
I've found the online version. It also has a tab whereby you can listen again to any show for up to a week. I assume this is the same station? It could be but you need the DAB sound much clearer than FM and TURN IT UP - DJs are brilliant including Alice Cooper, Danny Bowes from Thunder - my fave prog is the long player on a Sunday night - will play tracks whatever the lenghtI've found the online version. The Pogues did a brilliant version of this. It's on their "Rum, Sodomy & the Lash" album. Great stuff.
The main way I listen to music now is via Youtube or Youtube downloads. Are we actually listening to tracks or are we just posting YouTube links?
What do you use to convert the files to MP3 from YT ?The main way I listen to music now is via Youtube or Youtube downloads.
I have a huge playlist of songs I've converted from Youtube URLs to MP3s.
My record player and tape player are in mothballs.
My current car does not have a working CD player or radio.
I listen to all the songs I post links to and quite a few of the links that other people post.
I also listen to hundreds of songs I never post links to because I doubt anyone would appreciate the songs like I do.
First you need to download something like 4K Video Downloader. Copy the address of the YouTube Video. Paste that into the 4K Video Downloader. This will just download the video. To convert to mp3, you'll need to have a program like Audacity. Once you've got that, you will need to download another program called ffmpeg-win-2.2.2, because Audacity needs this to convert to mp3. Once you've got all this, it really is a piece of cake. Import the video file into Audacity and then export it as an mp3. I always use 320mbps. This can be selected. Most files are pre-selected to 145-180kbps which is medium speed. This all sounds easy to me because it's what I did at the BBC - editing. Sorry if it's a bit confusing. What do you use to convert the files to MP3 from YT ?
Just type "Youtube MP3 converter" into Google and you'll find several free online conversion tools. What do you use to convert the files to MP3 from YT ?
4k Video Converter will ask you whether you want to download the whole album. I've done it many times.Just type "Youtube MP3 converter" into Google and you'll find several free online conversion tools.
There may be better ways to do it but those suffice for me.
Occasionally there is a song that can't be converted and you have to try another upload of the song or maybe another conversion tool but I haven't found anything I could not capture so far.
They will only handle individual songs, so you cannot convert complete albums.
Ah! The easy life, BBR! No faffing about for you!Just get a digital radio and a turntable that plays vinyl, sorted !
