What do people actually want? (1 Viewer)

Just curious as to the general feeling right now. I’ve not made it to St Andrews as not been in the country but looking forward to it when I’m back. Never liked the Ricoh, shit match day experience and atmosphere and even worse since Wasps bought it.

Heard a few texts that were sent in saying will never watch outside the city etc etc so, what do people want?

Difficult one to poll. So did not vote:
Want;
Back to Coventry as soon as possible. Ricoh only option at present to do that. (Robin's and his squad, staff etc need support and paying!!... anybody stating away is affecting that going forward, sadly that is only option to get those, away games only bandwagon etc back) Would not want to joint own if Wasps are in trouble, but staying away will hurt them... how much is anybody's guess.
If we stay in Brum after this season, gates will be 3k if still in L1.
Ultimately want Wasps and the Council to be shown up for the snide t**ts that they are, and would love it to be found that something dodgy did go on.
Coucil ridiculed by national press and Wasps gone.

I don’t get it. Do fans think we as a club can go on like nomads from town to town to play and survive. EFL have asked our owner to update them every three months I’ll be interested in the first instalment

We don't own or have a ground to play in in Coventry, they are likely to be pretty flexible with our situation.

Its clear what those who haven’t turned up in Birmingham want.

I’ve been to 2 of the 3 games. I want the team to play in Coventry despite it being easier to get to Birmingham and the experience in Birmingham being better.

It’s like a choice between going to your mates on Xmas day or your grandmas. Your mates is way better, but you know you should be at your grans .

They will be. WBA also said we could rent, they wouldn’t turn that down, they just want to fulfill fixtures

Assume your referring to the couple of dozen who are doing non Birmingham games only , and not the thousands of home fans from last season who simply haven’t turned up in Birmingham for various reasons ?

Referring to those in the "Sisu have taken us out of Coventry again" and "Away games only" brigades, and those that can go but won't...... all.of whom will be moaning even more when we sell players or sign those of lower quality, or even lose MR....

I think you’re right, they will be flexible. Having allowed Bury to postpone all their games so far, I don’t see how they couldn’t be in our case.

Pretty sure, with some very sad exceptions ( mobility Etc) most can go. It’s that they choose not to. The “away game only” crowd is a smokescreen, it’s only a handful.

That vast majority of those not going have simply chosen not to travel to Birmingham, they just don’t feel connected enough

Those going to St Andrews will also lose out. Everyone loses out. This club is currently joint top of the league courtesy of the skills of the management team . They are defying gravity on a monumental scale when , if anything , they should be at best mid table and hoping to avoid possible relegation given the club's circumstances..
Lets not forget that the long term future of CCFC looks perilous. We have lost several thousand supporters, have no home and no prospect of returning in the immediate future.
SISU have indeed taken us out of Coventry, yet again. If that's okay with anyone so be it. For several thousand missing supporters it isn't. For the club itself it marks the lowest point in its history, for a second time.

Pretty easy answer... as long as wasps own the stadium and we can’t, then a rolling deal at Ricoh untIL we’ve built our own ground is the best option There

The pitch is better in Birmingham, the atmosphere is better ( even with half the attendance ) ... but it ain’t coventry!! So begrudgingly back to the Ricoh until we have our own ground , or those egg chases bugger off!!

Brighton also had to play at Gillingham, a 140 mile trek there and back, then had to play at that Withdean 'stadium' until they got their new stadium sorted, which could probably be described as outside of Brighton. Or hove.

I guess so.....to be honest I don't care about Wasps and the Ricoh Arena anymore. I just want to enjoy watching Coventry City again and supporting the team. Six games in and we are still unbeaten, I think we should feel proud of Mark Robins and the boys......as for the Ricoh Arena, Wasps can turned it into a Wetherspoons for all I care. I'm done with that place.

Actually no, there is nothing. Long term, the club is still in a precarious position - decreased attendances or no.

Not sure anyone is suggesting that. Plenty of options. Push on with woodland site, ask ccc for help to source alternative site, ask elf for boundary’s to see if we can build a site outside of ccc boundary etc.

Let’s not pretend we are out of options. It’s just we haven’t a clue what the owners are doing about them

Sorry I don't see building a stadium with the current owners as a viable option. Of the 2 that are left I guess a return to the Ricoh on a long term deal. If we could get part ownership all the better. I don't think SISU want part ownership though. They had plenty of time to get the Higgs 50% before they started falling out with everyone.

Yep. Because that’s all they realistically have to hold on to - feels like they’ve gone all in for things going in their favour at EC. Imo the club is in quite a hopeless state.

Of course they would be.

There isn’t a stadium for us to play in in Coventry and we don’t own one. How could we be forced to move back to Coventry when there is nowhere to go?

The day that the Ricoh was sold has been leading up to this and is the one action in all of this that has had the most impact to cause severe long-lasting damage, even once SISU are gone.

The fact some supporters even applauded the sale of the Ricoh is mind boggling.

Well, fans’ favourite Ray Ranson decided it would be pointless. It he’d pushed for it when they came in, I’m sure they would actually have purchased it.

What does this even mean??? Genuinely don’t get your point.

People screaming out for them to show the public the plan but in doing so that would severely weaken their position so actually I am happy that they do not do that. Not sure what you’ve said above in response to that

We need to return to ricoh but I think we need to things differently there. Like open stand behind the goal but only let people sit in bottom half of it and the scoreboard people move there.

The EFL have asked to be updated about their ground plan every three months, I make that early November. If we believe barmy Boris we’ll be out of the E.U then. a coincidence perhaps?

A few games in to St Andrews, what would you prefer?

Play at St Andrews for 3-5 years until a new stadium is built in Coventry

Play at St Andrews until an opportunity arises to return to the Ricoh as owners/part owners

Return to the Ricoh ASAP as long term tenants

Return to the Ricoh ASAP on short term deal until a new stadium is built
