500k Chaplin
2-300k bakayoko
100k (rumoured) young defender from mickleover (record fee for a player from them)
Allasani ???

Seems we’ve spent close to 1 million or will have spent that by January on players .
A lot for us compared to recent years

Can anybody correct or clarify or add player I’ve missed

It won't all be up front I don't think anyway so it won't be one big payment going out.

We have also paid for:

Hiwula
Dexter Walters from Tamworth
Bosma

I think the last 2 would just be pretty much gesture payments.

Potential fees of upto or maybe slightly over a million .
You could say he’s been backed as opposed to a lot of managers in the last few seasons

I know we've had plenty of money come in but it's a decent spend by the club in my opinion. Still would have liked to see some spent on a keeper.

Yeah probably is about a million or so when they are all paid.

Looking at it now , bakayoko wasn’t needed with JCH , biamou and hiwulu who by the way I think could be a really good player for us in his preferred position , and now Chaplin

Hiwula: <£150k
Bakayoko: £70k rising to £200k with add one
Chaplin: £500k
The rest: a few tens of thousands, maybe 1/4 mill between them
Ogogo: >£100k signing on fee

So around £1m plus other signing bonuses, plus wage increases to existing squad. So arguably circa £1.5m being generous.

Outgoing rumours:

McNulty: £1.2m rising to £1.5m with add one
Madders: 10-15% of a £22m fee so around £2.2-3m

So £3.5-4m in and £1.5m + operating costs of around £2m a season out.

Seems about right to me.

Got to say, this summer is the first in a while I've felt like a supporter of an actual football club and not like someone watching a loved one on life support. Long may it continue.

All in coming players cost money, either better contracts, signing on fees etc, we seem to have splashed out more this close season than we have for a long time but not crowing for sisu just yet as they have seen a decent wedge come in from The Maddison money and McNulty fee. What I do like though is we have signed a lot of young ‘uns 20/21 year olds obviously with eyes on the future.

Also no one knows the terms of the Maddison deal and it’s highly likely the extra fee is payable over three or four seasons?

What is the biggest threat to a business like ours would you say?

Biggest threat as always is players, they are all ambitious and looking to better themselves and why not. While we are in division 3 hanging on to our better players can be tough as we seen with the McNulty transfer.

We wouldn't have spent 500K on Chaplin up front, I'd suggest maximum of 75K up front for U23 prodigies and in and around100K for Hiwula. Ogogo signing on fee I couldn't comment on as I have no idea but I'd be astounded if it was in the region of a 6 figure sum.

Jesus. We don't have to give the cretins any credit. The club is running at break even. Sisu don't give a shit about the club. Never have, never will. Whatever money the club spend is money the club have earned.

Not while we have this on going court case still unresolved, Wasps have been quite clear that our current deal to play at the Ricoh is the last one while the legals sexist. So if the they haven’t been sorted where do we play ? I see nowhere locally suitable for a division 1/ championship football club.

As for the biggest threat well stopping fans sitting where they want to sit, stewards treating everyone like shit making the experience of going up pretty shit.
They do have problems with about 50 or so fans, they know who they are well concentrate on that and let the rest watch in peace.
Noticed the atmosphere at the last home game was pretty poor feels like we have gone back to how it was 4 or 5 years ago.

So what do you thing is the biggest threat.

People might be surprised at how football transfers are structured
Sometimes nothing at all is paid up front
For a young prospect a player might move in March with the first payment in July and the second, final payment on February the following year
For such a player there would be add ons if he progresses based on promotions, number of appearances, England age groups and so on
And a % of any sell on fee
For more established and in demand players up front payments and a faster payment schedule is more likely
Apart from the guys like Ogogo and Brown who were out of contract all the players we've signed are unproven prospects
McNulty was in demand and established so I'd guess we were in a position to demand more up front and with faster instalment payments
We also got a decent fee
Looking at things from the outside I'd say as a business we have handled it well
Buy low, develop, sell high
Don't forget if these prospects do well their value will rise

It's not SISU anyway
It's Robins and the recruitment team using money they generated themselves
Robins developed McNulty from a free transfer
He persevered with him when plenty of social media football geniuses were making up stupid names for him and calling for a taxi for Robins

They have backed our club?

Only about 1/3 of the money received has been spent on players coming in. About half of it has gone on one player. If he is as good as he looks he will be sold at a profit. At best they are speculating to accumulate. Which is what hedge funds do. But they are not backing us with their own money. And I am happy about this.

Just let them sit in the background quietly and let the football people get on with their jobs.
