I am doubly delighted seen us rise twice started watching them in Div.Three south, one season in Division Four, up through the leagues up to Division One which became the Premier League. All the way back down and back to where we are today. My opinion is the Journey is far better than the arrivalI see what you are saying but going have to give a different view Broken Sky Blue. I've been to games since 1978. My greatest City experiences have been over the past 5 years - seeing the Club rise from the dead (League 2) and back to competing strongly in the Champ. Playing some of the most attractive football as well. The connection between the team and the fans has never been better - I'm very proud of our fans who stuck with the club all the way down to L2. Loving the turnaround this season as well.
Correct, I went to the Wolves games away at the end of that season to see Brian Joycey score to secure the Fairs cup place.Hate to say you’re wrong, but in 1969/70 we came 6th. One place better.
Fair point SBS01 but after being thumped 3 and 4 and sometimes 5 away regularly year in year out and wondering where the next point was coming from when we were in the top flight, it ceased to be enjoyable.Ooooh I don't want to get promoted because the matches will be more difficult
Agreed but it's not the point I was making.
And please shut up vs. stalking my posts like an obsessed lunatic - you're boring me already and it's only Friday.
When we played the big teams at Highfield Road the buzz was amazing. If we managed to beat one of them it felt important. Playing Forest Green in a dead stadium is not my idea of a good timeThe notion it was more exciting playing Forest Green rovers was more exciting than Liverpool is insane

That’s essentially the argument!!!Ooooh I don't want to get promoted because the matches will be more difficult
That visit to FGR was possibly the nadir of my time supporting us…I expect the home game was equally bad. I empathised with that bloke going on the pitch.People look at the league 2 season with very rose tinted glasses - it was the depths and utter shite
It was the beginning stage of rebuilding the club, but we had to suffer the likes of Vincenti as part of that process.People look at the league 2 season with very rose tinted glasses - it was the depths and utter shite
I'm sure all the people on here saying they'd love being in the Premiership and don't mind being a yoyo team wouldn't be on here complaining when the likes of Man City are putting 7 or 8 past us.That’s essentially the argument!!!
Id fucking love to see Haaland up against Fadz!
If we went up I think supporters expectations would be relegation so Robins wouldn’t be under much pressure from the fans. The owners may feel differently howeverI'm sure all the people on here saying they'd love being in the Premiership and don't mind being a yoyo team wouldn't be on here complaining when the likes of Man City are putting 7 or 8 past us.
How long would it be after promotion before there were calls for big money signings? How many defeats before the taxi was being called for?
What we really want, along with every other football fan in the country, is someone to come in and pump huge amounts of money into the club so we can compete at the top level. Sadly we're never that lucky.
Well, I think some people will call for those things to happen regardless of the league we are in.I'm sure all the people on here saying they'd love being in the Premiership and don't mind being a yoyo team wouldn't be on here complaining when the likes of Man City are putting 7 or 8 past us.

Knowing him he would probably said it was Terry Yorath.Found Clive Eakins account
The same year we beat the same Stoke?Fair point SBS01 but after being thumped 3 and 4 and sometimes 5 away regularly year in year out and wondering where the next point was coming from when we were in the top flight, it ceased to be enjoyable.
I was treated to a ticket to the Stoke v Tottenham game in April 2018 it was first time I'd watched a live Premier game since we were relegated in 2001. I was struck by the speed strength athleticism and skill, it was awesome and thought how, if we ever reached the dizzy heights again, we'd seriously struggle.
Agreed but it was the turning point upwards on our journey. Cant say I enjoyed it but without that pit stop who knows where we would be?People look at the league 2 season with very rose tinted glasses - it was the depths and utter shite
I thought Brian Joicey was a very underrated playerCorrect, I went to the Wolves games away at the end of that season to see Brian Joycey score to secure the Fairs cup place.

This - I argue this with my friend who loved the season. He loved the Notts county games and the play off final. The 46 games before that were torture. Being chuffed at scraping a draw at Mansfield, losing 1-0 at home to Newport, 0-0 at home to Morecambe to just about finish in the top 6People look at the league 2 season with very rose tinted glasses - it was the depths and utter shite
Feel just the same, use it as security for the club. Think we would be in a very small minority though.I wouldn’t mind if we went up for a year, didn’t splash the cash, used the £100m or whatever it is to sort a stadium and the best academy and training set up that could be created and then just sat and waited.
Why wait? At some point the overspend lunacy of all of the other clubs is going to catch up with them and some kind of level playing field will return.
At that point we can be ready.
"But you can’t have one without the other can you..

you’ve also got the 6-2 against Yeovil where we were 4-0 down at half time,
does anyone remember the 0-0 live on tv against Barnet? Fucking horrendous stuff

Max’s equaliser though?I'll never forget Newport away. Worst game of my life. Parked in what felt like Lahore, got rained on for two hours, and the only beer was Worthington's Smoothflow at about £6 a pint.
Also though, I don’t give a fuck who we play, Liverpool or Forest Green, I just want us in the premier league as high as we can get.
I’m there to see us.
How much did Forest spend after they got promoted? .. only to get 2 wins from 14, score 10 and ship 30 so far.
Granted, they’re only 14 games in.. but they’ve been beaten at home by Bournemouth and Fulham (hardly fucking exciting) and spanked by Man City, Arsenal and even Leicester. Do you think ‘getting to see Haaland score a hat trick’ made it better?
Beating Liverpool 1-0 must’ve been fucking great (some of us know that feeling) but it doesn’t erase the depressing prospect of a season spent in the bottom three and subsequent relegation. I’m not saying I don’t want to be back in the Premiership, I just would want to be competitive, not a yo-yo club getting relegated every other season.
Incontinence pads? Cheeky bugger. Now I know you are taking the pee.OTIS got a question someone ITK has told me one offer on the table is from you he said you have made a big killing on incontinence pads and the money from them and train tickets you have made a six figure bid .This is better than Sisu's bid dont know if £1347.14 will be enough or not . Any truth in it or is it just someone claiming to be in know.
You are missing out the alternative seasons Inbetween, where we go up, possibly as champions, win lots of silverware in the process and most probably have a lot more trips to Wembley. How much did Forest spend after they got promoted? .. only to get 2 wins from 14, score 10 and ship 30 so far.
