Well, we started off very brightly and could have been at least 2 goals up first 15 mins.

MK passed the ball around sweetly, albeit in their own half and didn't particularly threaten at all. We closed down well and pressed and forced them into a number of mistakes and as I said, we could have been at least 2 goals to the good. All looked good.

We then stopped pressing and allowed MK to pass the ball a bit further up the field. MK then started to look threatening.

Another thing that was very much wrong was that MK played the ball out from the back and we kept getting Murphy to hoof the ball up to McGoldrick and it was a ploy that simply didn't pay any dividends. No-one was supporting Goldie at all and any headers he did win didn't end up with any possession of note.

The last thing of course was the amount of players who underperformed. Far too many off their game.

Wood - Besides the goal he was quite dreadful. Terrible back pass should have given a goal away. The player who played about 3 MK Dons forwards onside on that occasion when it is was harder for them to miss and he was all over the place as players ran at him and past him on a few occasions.

Christie - Outwitted, nervous and skinned on a number of occasions.

Barton - Glided through the game like it was a Sunday stroll in the park. A luxury player we can ill afford. Great for the first 10 mins and then a liability.

Shuffty - Great corner for the goal and he also .......... errmm ... errr .... nope, that was it. Nowt else.

4 players who were very poor. We simply cannot carry 4 passengers per game.

Moussa was terrible aswell. Very skilful but seems to have very little intelligence on a football pitch.

Well yep. Missed Moussa out of that bunch though as both he and Bailey did do some good work at times. As the game wore on though Moussa got worse and worse.

I agree why play so well for 17 minutes let them have the ball for 10 minutes then score from a corner strange that.Sheffers was shocking and should not play for a while wood was like his name sake wooden.where was Cody did he spit his dummy out after Robins said he was freddie 's double

To be honest, I just ink they are a better side than us, better movement, better passing, better pressing, stronger, more pace, more stamina, etc. and above all they do the basics well.

They just wrestled the initiative and then never let it go. I keep saying it but we have the wrong types of players, we lack pace and strength and We don't do the basics well.

I do like the look of Bailey though. Think he could be a good player for us in time. Like the way he broke up play at times.

You've missed the skipper off there! Baker was absolutely abysml tonight as per usual.

Robins should not of switched Moussa and Mcsheffrey around, working well first 15 minutes. Moussa played in 3 different positions tonight... Should of kept him on the left!
Poor decision by Robins.

Not sure I agree he was terrible. When he was in from of the LB he done well but then when he moved so Sheffers could move to LM maybe he was less effective.

I thought Barton looked disinterested. I've had high hopes for him this season but he turning out to be another sideways Sammy. Always had his back to goal, facing our own goal. I do still think he will come good so won't be too critical

Wood was poor. Sooner Malaga makes a come back the better IMO!

Sheffers, I won't even talk about him. He's not worth the effort of typing.......

McGoldrick was wasted once Ball came on and had no support before that. I really didn't get why he moved out wide and we kept one striker up top.

Moussa was dreadful, couldn't pass a ball to save his life. Mcgoldrick wasn't much better tonight, took 3 or 4 touches to do simple things and couldn't hold the ball up. Moussa should have been taken off before Sheff imo

Thought we defended well as a unit, take out Woods mistake and he had an ok game. Like to look of Reckord an improvement on Hussey imo

In the first 10 mins when Mcgoldrick went through on goal, it was an attempted trip on him but Mcgoldrick carried on to take a shot. If he goes down could the question of a red card been asked?

Also I think Robins is talking a good game but I have my reservations about him, not much difference in the performances yet imo

2. That series of chances that MK had where it seemed harder to miss. Watch the replay and it's his slowness coming out of defence that played about 3 MK players onside.

3. And he also let players turn him on a number of occasions

4. and that chance that MK had in the first half where the player brought down with his chest and shot, he wasn't marking him at all closely enough and he nearly gave a goal away there too.

He was very poor.

Baker's first touch - was set up twice in the first 15 mins but was unable to initially control the ball ensuring a good chance became a half chance.
Sheffers dreadful
Wood great header for the goal, defensive play was shocking, back pass under hit, players running past him with ease inability to deal with basic defensive situations.
Barton sunday stroll description above is accurate
The moose, first midfielder with apparent pace and we play him in a paul scholes role, utter waste.

MK Dons are simply a better side than us. They had better shape, were more committed and knew what they were doing. They will be top 3 this season.

First 20 I thought we were decent. McGoldrick linked the play well and we were getting players forward. They never really threatened, we didn't really press them but we kept 2 solid banks of four and they relied on Wood's fuck-ups to create chances.

Second half they were quicker and a bit more direct, would have been a joy to watch as a neutral. We pressed a little more but never really did it as a unit, and it left gaps for them to exploit.

Our shape was much better once Barton went off and Ball was a bit more of a focal point than McGoldrick had been. Think we've got to be happy with a point against one of the top sides in the league and a slightly improved performance.

I though Edjenguele was better, I was up the complete opposite end to the scramble so can't really comment on that. I'm not saying he played brilliant but he seemed the only one to me trying to communicate with the back line, pulling the back line up every time an stopping us from sitting too deep.

I thought the back 4 played good anyway, for the amount of possession Dons had they created very little although the few chances they did manage to create were pretty shocking misses. The problem was in midfield, no pressure on the Dons defence/midfield and they had all day to play it about and then when we did get the ball we couldn't string 3 passes together

MK have been playing as a unit all season. We have just started to and with a few more new players. This makes a big difference. Not a good result but have taken a point off a club in decent form.

Bright start, good delivery for the goal, Edge did okay, Bailey covered back quite well and broke up the play and we didn't lose but after that I'm struggling for positives.

On the negative side, I don't really like the one up front idea at home, when our midfield don't have the energy to get up to support. Barton was yet again a total liability and no wonder MK Dons passed all round as with him in team its like playing with 10 men. Moussa should never have moved over as he is much better on the left and started reasonably well on the left so I think this was a mistake by Robins. Wood is too slow and although he got the goal he will cost us more goals than he will give us. Baker wasn't really in it at all, Sheff was poor in the second half and Fleck didn't have the impact he did on Saturday but maybe that's because MK Dons weren't shit.

I don't believe that, we were misplacing simple passes, the team played badly as a whole and the fact we still drew is somewhat encouraging.

Their goal was lucky, they didn't create many good chances bar that chance where their 10 should've buried it (goal mouth scramble) we created 2-3 decent chances.

Overall, a poor game of football (bar the 1st 20m) fir both teams.

All a little critical here. Mk are a decent side and will be there abouts at the end. So we played a strong league 1 side and drew. Considering we just got our first win at Oldham (who won tonight by the way at Crewe) under a new manager finding his feet and finding his players it suggest a reasonable improvement already.
I think we should stick with that and see what happens saturday. Bournemouth are half decent but would expect us to now turn them over. That should be 7 from 9 and confidence, fitness, formations, and everything else will only get better.
In this league string a few back to back wins together and suddenly you are up there.....so keep watching it's going to get very interesting over the next month or two I feel.

Let me just add a thought. Check the results tonight and a lot of them were not expected. That's the crazy thing about this league. Once we get organised, start playing well for 90 minutes being consistent we will do very well. Sheff Utd are pluging away with narrow wins or draws but they are consistant compared to most of the others. We will get as many away wins as we will at home in this league. I don't see great 'home' advantage. Most teams will love what they see at the Ricoh and give it all they got.

I wonder if some people are wondering if Robins' win button isn't working? You know we, won Sat.. Should be easy now.

We are still very much a work in progress. It's going to take TIME to turn our problems around. Ball retention being always a major gripe of mine.

All being said, when I got in last night I was pleased with a point in the end, but very disappointed with performance.

The main problem we had last night was our striker tries to do everything our midfield played on the back 4 toes and after the first 20 mins we didn't win any second balls and allowed MK far to much space!!! It's a good job MK couldn't score for toffee last night, finishing wasn't there strong part though there ball retention was excellent ! For 20 mins we turned up, wen on top we need to score which means Cody needs to be fit!!!

Same old story. We played well for only part of the game again, this time 20 mins.

We need to drop Sheff and Barton and Christie (if possible, dependent on injuries) immediately.

I would like to just add that on my drive home yesterday the thing I couldn't get out of my head how jealous I am of MK Dons' fans for being treated to to such enjoyable football to watch every week, they were very good

First 20 mins they reminded me of us under Thorn.

Passing it across the back 4, no penetration. It was nice passing but all very dull. At that point I was quite confident we would win as they offered no threat at all. As the game wore on though they started to rip through our midfield and looked a completely different outfit. At that point they zipped the ball about and did so with purpose and then they did look very threatening.
