[h=2]Leon Marvin Clarke- Yes or No ?[/h]
No thanks. For many reasons... He was a $#@! when he was here so the fans don't like him. He's a very limited striker, but of a lump up top who can score goals in league one but probably not at a much higher level. He's not exactly great on the ball. He's pretty old now at 28.

The artist formerly known as Henry's TackleIs there a poll?
If we are going to re-sign a Clarke I would sooner have Wayne coming out of retirement than him.

He's obviously had whispers coming from somewhere hence his transfer request. As NWW said he thinks he'll not be coming here, which for me is a huge weight off my chest.

No guarantees, but reasonably confident. Watch him sign now!!
It is hugely doubtful whether he could cut in the championship. He comes with immense baggage which would make it even more difficult to succeed here than at any other club (bar maybe Sheffield Wednesday as their fans despised him).
He is no spring chicken, and when younger he had the turning circle of the Amoco Cadiz.
NO for me.

He really wasn't. He was a rare example of someone who deserved most of the $#@! he got, because he was a lazy, arrogant arse and rude to many fans who met him.

Been there and it's a place neither we nor him need to revisit. It's a no from me as I think he has found his level and we won't be here next season. Would rather bring in a young, hot prospect.
Relegation is not the death of a football club. It can bring a rebirth...a new beginning
He's more valuable for us at Coventry, scoring against our promotion rivals.

No way. He still looked like a chippy fat bastard when Coventry played down here. Lost a couple of headers and then didn't want to know.
He has never done it above League One level (almost 200 games in the Championship, averages about 1 in 6), is too old to improve and we can do a lot better. I'm also with those who don't think a striker is now a priority with the change in formation and Griffiths, Dicko and McAlinden at the club. Signing someone to be a fourth choice striker is not important and I certainly wouldn't want Leon's gigantic arse blocking McAlinden's route to the first team.

The rain falls hard on a humdrum town.
Yes from me for all the reasons above. He got dog's abuse when he played for us and when he gave some back it was like he had become Satan. If we are in for the top goal scorer in the league then I think that is a reasonable move to make. History suggests Clarke would move on to pastures new when his services were no longer required and if he came here and scored a shed load of goals between now and the end of the season to get us promoted then it would be well worth it.
He isn't the greatest striker in the league but if Jackett wants a striker who better at his level than the one who has scored more goals at this level than anyone else this season?
