January's transfer window should answer all our questions.
This is what I'm worried about. Clingan and Cranie for a start.
Turner - 750k
Gunnar - 400k
Dann - 400k
Macdonald - 400k.
So yeah they've only ripped us out of 1 million this window guess we should be pleased.
And before you say some of that money could go to loans - first let's wait and see if we do get any in,and secondly the loans can be paid for out of the near 30k a week wages we've 'saved' from them trimming the squad.
I'm going to be frustrated if SISU smoke and mirrors has turned some people around.
But if he does not want to sign a new contract what can be done?
So although not ideal would it have not been best to try and sell him and use any monies from the sale to have bought in some replacements, or if possible sell him in january to try and get replacements in.
I think folk have got to get their head round the fact that the wage reduction is a reduction in the losses it isnt necessarily going to be available to fund more players. It isnt that the money is sitting there waiting to be spent.
Nor is the money from Dann (est 250k) Gunnar (est 250k) or Turner (750k) sitting there waiting to be respent. The club funded the purchase of McDonald for £400k against those funds coming in, the rest will go to cover day to day running costs of CCFC including possible wages of loan signings. What it will show on the annual accounts is a net profit on player dealings so far of £1250k. take that with a saving of wages circa £2.5m (plus other savings) and that has getting on for halved the losses before write down of player contracts (assuming income remains similar to 2010). That is important for the future of this club, places less reliance on SISU, and we no longer boast losses at £500k pm
in fact if crowds and revenue can be maintained, with the profit on sale of prozone (which i think will turn up in this financial year 31/05/2012) then the group could be close to break even or perhaps profit ! That would surprise a few I think. Big IF right now though
