i know these articles are 12 months old but apparently the oystons have just sued more fans.
Question for nick is how would the owners obtain the details of fans on a forum and is this something sisu could potentially do as it now seems rediculous that you cant comment on your own football club which as we all appreciate can get emotional at time as everyone has strong feelings.

I thought our owners were bad but looking at the blackpool saga perhaps we are lucky. Even more having an owner that looks like someone from the wild west.

There one thing commenting on the club but this is different. Just because they're involved in a football club doesn't mean it's acceptable to abuse and Libel them no matter how bad they are as owners.

My understanding of it though is their comments were no different to many on here and other club forums around ownership, finances and asset striping.
Should we all be careful now or is this just bully boy tactics by owners like them to try and shut fans up and cover up the truth

We all know sisu monitor this forum so it also begs the question on how people like the oystons obtained personal data to identify fans and serve them with court papers.
Nick how secure are our details and would they be given out to third parties if requested ?

I definitely think the oystons are worse than sisu, then, off the top of my head, you've got Cellino at leeds, the Charlton fella and the venkys at Blackburn who all give sisu a run for their money.

I remember mcginnity the unimpeachable threatening the moderator on GMK and I'm sure LAST had something as well. As long as its kept to football and about the club then nobody has anything to worry about. That said, I thought it was pretty poor form when some of the stuff about Fisher and going to his kids schools was bandied about.

Says everything about football that Oyston was on the football league board of directors in 2010, they must be the only estate agents in Blackpool for people to use them.

Top of the league are the Oystons but I think Sisu run them close, Cellino still thinks he is in Italy, not sure on Charlton, the venkeys were sold a dream and like Sisu have no idea how to run a club

I argue that we have the worst owners in the FL, Blackpool fans disagree but the Oystons have not moved them to play at Accrington, yet. This point normally seals it.

One thing we are top of at least.

They also have a few that defend the Oystons.
Not sure were our Grendal is in the ranking table though

On the subject of litigation, didn't CCFC/Fisher/SISU threaten some fans with legal action a while back? Seem to remember a threatening letter from a well known legal company...

But they're not the only ones - I have it on good authority that the SCG bloke threatened another City fan with legal action (defamation??) for things said I think online. It's easy to think of SBT asa bit of fun, and it is until someone tells you seriously you might get sued. The bloke ever afterwards thought more carefully about what he said.

They could request information off Nick and if they had a court order I doubt he would have much choice about handing it over. But that will only show the details you have used to registered and the IP address you've posted from so they'd still have work to do to identify you. Would then need a court order to force the ISP to pass over details.

Pretty sure I heard that it was not sisu but former owners of acl that had threatened legal action against a couple of fans for posting stuff on here and on gmkonline.

It would need a court order / some sort of police request that's signed off.

The only data I could give them is email and ip address anyway so not massive amounts.

Even if I gave an ip, it would have to be the authorities then getting authorisation to get your details from your isp. That's probably not going to happen unless it's crime.

If it was terrorism or talking about crime where the police think the poster knows something it is more likely to happen, can't see it for saying Fisher is a knob. Obviously then if it's threatening to go to his house or kids school it starts getting murky.

Also some people post their identity on here, people from the trust have so in theory sisu wouldn't need to check anything if say jan, moz or somebody posted something.

Let's not forget a family of lawyers.

There's been nothing legal from sisu about posts on here.

the first statement the venkys made after buying Blackburn was a green light to how little they knew about football, straight away I feared for the rovers fans. Football is a disgrace for the way it is run and how it has let the fans down . But saying that , look how councils , the old bill , the nhs ,are run ,all public services but run like profit making buisneses ,untouchable ,allowed to lie and bullshit their way , and if you try to complain or even have your say ,well your in for a rough ride . And in my experience , unions , on parr with councillors and mps , money making lieing rats . So sisu are up ther in my mind ,but by no means on their own ,
