Working from home
In Florida...
I am one day in work, one day out..(what that's gonna do i don't know).
This week i'm out Mon, Weds, Friday which is nice...
The thing is, there are probably 80 - 100 people in our building and no one out in our manufacturing area is practicing any kind of social distancing or cleaning.
We have one PC with people standing in line clocking in and out each day. Literally 50 people doing it.
It's pathetic really and I've decided to bring my own spray in to clean shit around the high traffic areas..
I've had a word with the leads about this but they don't give damn..
I'm gonna be pissed when someone gets the virus in the building and then we have to close down (meaning we don't get full pay).
It's good to that sex workers are still putting in a shift.
Fair play.
Same here. Not a huge difference for me as I'm the only one based in the Midlands. Just saves me sitting in traffic every day to get to the office which for unknown reasons they decided should be in Blythe Valley.Working from home full time (IT stuff)
Wonder how they came up with 80%, seems a bit random. Do they reckon that's the cost of going to work?Been furloughed today initially until the 6th April but may well be extended, 80% pay so not too bad.
He can’t leave it like that mateSelf employed - fucked - built my business over last 4 years and slowly watching it crash.
It's the Government % to protect jobs, not sure how they worked it out, maybe they figure 20% of a wage is disposable income and as they've shut everything there is nothing to spend that bit on so it's not needed. Random as you say.Wonder how they came up with 80%, seems a bit random. Do they reckon that's the cost of going to work?
what do you mean mate?He can’t leave it like that mate
What do you do, are you totally screwed until the lockdown is over?Self employed - fucked - built my business over last 4 years and slowly watching it crash.
In short the system isn't set up yet. But it looks like your employer keeps paying you but designates you furloughed so you don't actually work. Reading it sounds like you get all your salary but the employer can claim 80% from the government but I might be misunderstanding that.Does anybody know how it's going to be paid ? Is it something your company pay and claim back ?
How to access the scheme
You will need to:
HMRC will reimburse 80% of furloughed workers wage costs, up to a cap of £2,500 per month. HMRC are working urgently to set up a system for reimbursement. Existing systems are not set up to facilitate payments to employers.
- designate affected employees as ‘furloughed workers,’ and notify your employees of this change - changing the status of employees remains subject to existing employment law and, depending on the employment contract, may be subject to negotiation
- submit information to HMRC about the employees that have been furloughed and their earnings through a new online portal (HMRC will set out further details on the information required)
If your business needs short term cash flow support, you may be eligible for a Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan.
Ok, they didn't really explain that side very well, i can see that getting complicated. I'll have to ask HRIn short the system isn't set up yet.
