I honestly think pask will become a solid player for us next season if he is given the chance, was so unlucky with his injury last season and was very highly thought of at West ham before he came here so for me a new CB I'd definitely below a new lwb, st and CDM cover
Yeah I think Pask has a lot of potential. Didn’t he play in the second cup game abasing Brum and looked very comfortable on very little football before that.
I'm surprised Marosi is that tall, I thought he was around 6ft. Always seemed on the shorter side but maybe that's because he's not the type to battle for crosses.
Biamou is listed as the same height as Godden I dont know whether that is the club being unable to use a measuring tool or just guessing :
Right hes same height as him so he is 7ft 8
Hes shorter than him by about 3 ft so he is 2ft 1
I actually think we have a strong enough team to surprise people this year. So far we’ve only lost Walsh, who we’ve replaced with Hamer - and while he is an unknown at this point he’s highly thought of.
The other player we’ve lost is McCallum, and a LWB has to be the priority. I really rate Mason, but he’s a LB as opposed to LWB, however I’m sure they’re all working on converting him. Even so, we need an attack minded LWB as a priority, and while I liked McCallum, he’s by no mean irreplaceable and I wouldn’t be surprised if we actually bring in an upgrade - at least ability wise, even if not potential.
Striker would be second priority; Godden deserves a chance and while I wasn’t sure of him at first, he contributed more and more as the season progressed. Even so, either an experienced proven striker, or a young hot prospect would be ideal - especially if the aim is to push on. With Bakayoko and Biamou supporting and providing different options, we’d be in good shape.
If budget allows then another CM would be good. If Kelly/Hamer are injured were reliant on Shipley, Westbrooke or Eccles. I actually think the former two are more than capable of playing there, especially Westbrooke. He isn’t the most physical, but I don’t class Kelly as physical either and Westbrookes range of passing is just as good. But ideal world, we’d have another naturally deeper lying midfielder.
I don’t think we need another CB, McFadzean and Hyam lack pace, but the former has played in the Championship before and is experienced enough to mitigate a lack of pace, and Hyam didn’t get caught out this year. Plus Pask has pace and is highly rated. We don’t need two good replacement CB’s - it’s a waste of budget.
After that I don’t think there’s any glaring gaps, but I’m sure they’ll be a surprise signing over the next few months. No matter how good the squad, if a player of a different level becomes available and we have budget left then why not. Panzo is a potential example of that, we don’t need a CB in my opinion, but he’s obviously seen as a different class so why wouldn’t we.
