no i wont go as its my way of showing sisu what a dumb idea it is.
instead i am going to try and go to away games this year(as stated before i dont go away as i always percieved it as aggressive chavvy hoolganism elemenets, but have been told by posters i am wrong), i just need to find a good travel service and someone to go with
thats biggest deal i guess, most of my friends support prem teams and i dont really wanna travel to and watch away games on my own, hopefully sort something though as i wanna see cov play
You see That's what I don't agree with Otis, I don't think it will matter if one Cov fan turns up of 5,000, SISU are stubborn fuckers and I think they'll see this through to the end regardless, which will mean 5 years without watching my team play. I certainly won't be buying a season ticket and going every week like previous seasons but I'm not cutting off my nose to spite my face and never attending Northampton,
What if nobody goes, morale drops and the players don't perform, we get back to back relegations SISU continue to play hard ball and refusing to sell up claiming they will "turn it all around when the new stadiums built" and we end up going out of business anyway.
I don't see that me and my daughter going to watch Cov in Northampton is going to matter a great deal in the grand scheme of what happens with this club
gonna wear replcia shirt too
Surely if no-one goes sisu will have to return to Coventry. They may want to play hardball but Sisu is made up of investors and no way will those investors wish to see money being lost hand over fist week after week.
No-one goes and that is exactly what is going to happen.
Hopefully one from last year - NOPM
gonna wear replcia shirt too
Doesn't surprise me at all....
ill stand next to you so i can be cool ,i dont wear the shirt and i dont go home matches, im da man!
You can be my mascot.....
...I'll hang you from my rear view mirror...
But we can all throw stories out there. I have been going up since 1968. My dad used to carry me up there as a babe in arms. I used to watch all the reserve games and many youth games too. ST holder for many, many, many years.
My dad first went up in 1938 and watched them for 40 years.
I have lived and breathed Coventry City and it will break my heart, but the right and proper thing to do to stop this madness is for no-one to go.
If NO-ONE went then we would be back to Coventry like a shot. If people continue to go to Northampton in any numbers then there is no urgency for the club to come back home. None whatsoever.
5,000 turn up at Northampton every home game and there is no incentive for Sisu to even lay one single brick in a new stadium.
Hate to say it, but it is us stay-aways who are the only ones who can force the owners' hands here. Those who attend may feel they are backing the team on the pitch, but they are hurting the team off it in my opinion.

it cant be a certainty if it is dependent on 2 people leaving!
Otis is using the power of persuasion to encourage others to think again. This thread has remained respectful which is useful as all opinions need an hearing so that most people can have enough knowledge to make an informed decision.Unfortunately Otis that's your opinion right or wrong, however you have no proof that the club would never come back to Coventry, but you base your opinion on what you believe in SISU and what you have seen or lack of it. People can do what they like and I would respect people for staying away and the fans who go to northampton, but going to the games doesn't make them better fans or worse, just that's there right. I can't honestly say that whether people choose to go Northampton or not for whatever reason it should matter what people on here say or think, no one makes a decision in life based on other peoples opinion or a majority poll on a fans forum.
Everyone has there background (Story) and everyone has there right and it won't change.
It isn't based on 2 people leaving its based on a whole host of reasons that I am sure you recognise.

It is everyone's right to take their own individual action and go or not go but if someone is going for a reason that is illogical then politely and respectfully explaining why may enable them to change their position

Why is he though? What business of Otis' or anyone else if someone wanted to attend a Football much unless there family? I never said this thread hasn't remained respectful however we should respect peoples right's and far as I can see CovisGod is welcome to take his children to watch CCFC if he see's fit.

Disagree.
If you believe that people attending games at Northampton will be to the detriment of your club, then you have every right to express that opinion.
Express it politely and respectfully, but express it.
Ah but you see that's where your wrong it's not just your club or my club it's everyone's CCFC, Otis, MMM, PSGM1, CovisGod, Jimmy Hill, john Sillet, just because one person wants to go doesn't mean the majority should try to influence someone otherwise.
By all means express you have an opinion and that may not always agree with someone else's and if someone has stuck to there opinion what right should you have to change it? Yes we are moving to Northampton fact, but in Otis' opening response he noted that the club wouldn't be coming back? Well I haven't seen that in the news, have you?

I'm a bit confused.....
You said that I'm wrong and then you said "by all means express you have an opinion".
I'd said "you have every right to express that opinion".
So I'm wrong, but you agree with my point?
If I believe that someone supporting the club in Northampton is going to prolong SISU's stay, I'm going to tell them that they are wrong to do so. It is their right to go, it is mine to tell them why I think they shouldn't.
Equally if I want to call him a scab, I can do that too. It's not very nice, but I can do it.
You are wrong you said and I am quoting "If you believe that people attending games at Northampton will be to the detriment of your club, then you have every right to express that opinion."
I have also highlighted the part of which I feel is most important so you understand what I am saying, but if want I can give you another example.
When we played Preston in the JPT at the Ricoh the tickets were £5, but the game was also being aired live on Sky, now I remember covcity4life choosing to watch the game live at home on his TV and got slated because he wouldn't go and pay the £5 to see the game? My point is why should that be you or anyone else's right to try someone out of what they want to do?
You can have an opinion this is not wrong, it may not always be matching with other posters opinions, this is also fine, you may debate opinion, this part of society, however what is happening here is that you are trying to influence someone else's decison on what they do with money they have earned and how they treat there kids. "Sorry kid's can't go CCFC now in Northampton, the posters on Sky Blues Talk said it's not right and we should support the club by staying away and listening to other peoples expressions instead of our own" Good bye to your manhood as you know it.
So can you simply confirm:
Do you believe that people have a right to express an opinion on this matter ( as I said and as I believe) or do you believe that they have no right?
yeh robbo is right, people can spend their money how they want
but its also ok to say why you wouldnt do it yourself
but there comes a point where you gotta agree to disagree
People can express there opinion on the matter as freely as they want and many have and said they won't go which is fine, however I quoted Otis's post because Otis is trying to influence someone as to why they shouldn't go to the matches, Otis quoted the legends and expressed his own opinion, however I wouldn't go to watch CCFC games just because Dion Dulin or Marcus Hall don't agree with it.
It's amazing how in that whole post you only picked out the part for my confirmation, but totally missed out my explanation as to why post's such have been quoted are incorrect.
