Whose doing the Math at Club these days ? (1 Viewer)

Whilst not a regular reader, so apologise, since I'm sure this has been raised many times before, but have to confess, not read any article, this new found form would, logically, if the club had been at the Ricoh last night, have produced, even thought a mid week game, around I believe 14,000 turnout, perhaps a little less ?

So if we assume, some discounts for children, some free tickets, then an average ticket price may have been £15 perhaps ?

£15 x 14,000 is £210,000 in one game. Last night they had what, 2,300 people at around £15 so £34,500, the difference of £175,500 would pay the rent, on a one year only deal whilst the children continued to bicker about who owns it (Council v ACL v Atrium) ... but that one game would pay for all the rest to be free of rent.

I know that there is politics here, we all now that, but seriously as a finance based person for a local company, what is the FD of CCFC advising them to do ... since for me sitting around the board table, this conversation would be my only conversation I would ever raise ... I'd be like a stuck record !

It's all a no brainer...

Oh well .. rant over, back to work ! ;o)

Mid week ticket prices there are £9 for adults.

The club couldn't have took more than £18k in last night.

Difference of over £190k to what they could have had at the Ricoh.

If you work in finance then surely you would know that the tickets would have to go towards staff wages, matchday fees to the stadium for things like floodlights, policing (if any).

Are you saying that ticket prices are set at a cost of sale basis?

No I am just saying it isn't as simple as saying ticket price x attendance could pay rent as that is assuming no deductions. I am not doubting they would get more from ticket sales at the Ricoh though

Yes, you're right runner, it is a no brainer...only problem is it doesn't fit with the master plan.

I do love these posts which compare what the attendance would have been at the Ricoh.

its easy to make an argument when its impossible to be prove if your right or wrong!

Well that facts are the average last season was 11k.

This season were playing much better. Make of that what you will.

It must be 1/2 million a month in lost revenue for Sisu through the nopm campaign. Admittedly this is based on Ricoh not sixfields capacity.
This loss will be compounded with them having to put money into the club every month to pay the overheads and wages !!!
Also they have to get used to paying rent again !!!
Also Acl will have to deal with lost revenue but i can't imagine its anywhere near the same level !!

Nopm is working and Ann Lucas predicts we will be home for Christmas !!!!

I admire your optimism but I think that was a wish from Ann Lucas rather than a prediction!

I tend to not listen to Ann Lucas anymore, The thing for me yesterday was Bob Ainsworth comments about SISU looking to pay £20m to build a new stadium and then further 3 years @ £3m a season giving them a total of £29m... why have SISU only made a £7m offer?? I think this is in a way showing CCC/ACL's hand to some degree.

Personally, I think Joy should put a £25m offer in and see what CCC/ACL say to that. Least then its a statement of intent and shows the supporters where the club stands.

Totally agree with you there. People can moan all they want about the council and / or ACL but SISU need to formally put in an offer. We're not going to make any progress until that happens.

Has anyone thought of this scenario, shoud sisu buy the Ricoh and surrounding land what guarantees are there they would come back to football play there, everyone assumes that would be a gimme, but would it? None of us know what their master plan is, do they have a buyer lined up quietly, do they have buyers lined up to buy and develop the whole area, a resident football team could be a barrier. The question has to be asked why from turning down a chance to acquire some of the Ricoh a few years ago to Sepalla herself coming from the shadows to be almost desperate to get her hands on the site beggers questions as to why.

That is their only weapon.

There are lots of opinions that are impossible to prove one way it the other. That's why they are opinions.

This particular opinion seems pretty realistic.
Some opinions are easier to dismiss than others.

Without opinions this would be one boring forum....

true, perhaps they could pay for that at the next couple of home games at the ricoh. wow, the posibility of a whole seasons operating cost paid for in 3 games, imagine that. they might even have a paying shirt sponsor aswell, and possibly all the program sponsors would come back, and possibly all the fans would start buying merchandise again. the possible outcome is bigger than gate reciepts so i dont get what the point of your reply was.

I genuinely think SISU do not have that sort of cash. Even when they talk of funding for the new stadium, back on the 6th June Fisher stated that SISU would only have to find cash for the land and that the funding for the stadium would come from a balance of Debt (Money they could borrow) and Equity money they could raise on non stadium development (Bit like Tesco's). If they can not get there hands on £25 million, which for big business is peanuts, then they are in deep do, do!
Apart from that, the plan to starve ACL is actually starving SISU more. There must be some huge ego's being pooed on at SISU tower.

The factually correct CT poll said that only 60% would go to the Ricoh with sisu still in charge, so that's about 6.2k.

nick pointed out that their are more running cost than paying the rent, which i agree with. i then pointed out that there are more revenue streams then just the gate receipt's which in my opinion rendered his post pointless.

Whilst they encourage the fans to bicker more like, but given todays statements about the increasing ACL turnover regardless of Football it looks like ACL can play the long game.

SISU are now in a very difficult situation. I can't see how they can win this provided the council & ACL follow their lead and totally ignore public opinion.
