Why are we getting players in left right and centre now when it's too late. There are players we have signed that I'd be happy with signing in the Championship.

I respect that sisu have put their hand in their pockets, but I'm angry how late they have left it.
I'd also like to add that we haven't actually bought someone yet. All loans and free agents!

I believe this is the best squad/starting xi we've had for at least 5 years but you have left it too late!

Why? Because they hired absolute idiots of a board last season. I think KD and co. may have had the budget to spend but prioritised cutting costs over all else.

Either that or SISU realised that having an unrealistic budget last year didn't work and are now trying to amend that.

Whatever the theory, people have learnt from their mistakes, which is what life is all about.

There are mistakes that they haven't learnt from yet. Until they get those right, I'll remain in the "SISU OUT" camp.

It is more like being able to get rid of players on high earnings and deadwood like Fatwood that were draining our resourses. This money has been used to bring in decent players on a lower wage. We also seem to have someone who kbows how to run a football club now.

I cant beleive how many stupid people exist on this forum. How many times does it take to sink in that last season we had a massive wage bill full of wasters like eastwood and clingan. This year with them gone we can afford to get more players on lower wages. Hardly rocket science is it?

We've saved money on wages but it's really cost us being relegated and now we also have the prospect of much lower away followings and possible much lower attendances.

Sorry to be negative but...

SISU have finally realised that either keep losing money with no hope of recouping their investment, or invest a little time, effort and money to hopefully get the supporters back onside and make us more attractive to potential buyers. And if they turn public support around, maybe even the council will be daft enough to trust them and let them have the keys to the main prize.

Surely the current batch of new arivals have been fianced by the departures,so no real investment just a re-jig...and I hope it works But I can't help thinking that the whole thing has been staged managed i.e.plenty of activity with players coming in all week and then Keoghs goes and no one cares because we have some new players albeit they are mainly unknown or untried!!

Sisu have not made any real NEW investment so I'm not ready to forgive them just yet for ruining my club:blue:

They haven't put their hands in their pocket. Bigi and Keogh's sales and moving players like Cranie on and saving their wages has funded this.

The other thing to be mindful of is that although there has been an influx of players, and a welcome one at that; some of the big earners, such as Eastwood, Cranie, Clingan et al have left. Right now, the overall effect of recent activity is a much lower wage bill, and a significant fee surplus.

Sisu have taken a step in the right direction at last ! It's only the beginning and the season hasn't started so a string of good results, a good push up the league and Sisu's continued financial support along these lines is going to start bringing people back to the Ricoh. Goes without saying really.
I'm going to sit quietly and go and enjoy some good football and if Sisu continue to do the right thing for the club, might even put behind me what they have done over the last couple of years.
I dont really care who owns the club as long as they put the club first and cherish it. PUSB

Whats gone on before, should be filed in the "
lessons to be learned"Folder and recited before every meeting of our management Team, especially at executive level.
It appears that the cavalry have arrived, but alas a long time after the battle has ended.
Losing our status in the "Championship"has cost us more than the "Band Aids" which we are now attempting to stop our club from bleeding to death.
Some serious errors of judgement were made by people in high places last season, the one that shouts out to us was the failure to sign Marlon kIng,who's goals would have more than likely kept us up, so he would, in fact have paid for himself several times over.
But "what is done is done"no point looking back, we have to wait and see, and hope that the measures being taken, can finally stop the rot, which is decaying our club, personally for me, SISU will never be able to wipe the slate clean, They've told too many lies and broken too many pledges for my liking.
This coming season, could well be "The last chance saloon" for the Sky Blues, The incoming players need to perform better than the ones in the out tray.
I hope this opinion does not offend those amongst us that are steeped in unfounded optimism, I always try to be honest in my views, but often the truth, lies heavy with some of us.

No we havent. In my opinion Gael wasnt near to being our best player, only potentially. And the Keogh sale got us over a million for a player with a year left on his contract.

Best squad for 5 years? On what evidence. There is too many unknows to know that. I will accept that they have the potential to be the best squad but until we see them play some competitive matches we can't really judge. We just need to hope AT's eye for talent has picked out the gems and the players pull there weight this season.

Don't get me wrong it's a great thing players coming through the door and I'm looking forward to seeing them play and hopefully perform to push for promotion

Right, The way I see it is SISU still have their hands in their pocket investing, they never actually took it out. They got wrapped up in signing people on to silly long expensive contracts or paying over the odds in wages to players that simply weren't good enough, now some of them are being sold/want to leave it gives us chance to get rid of the dead wood. At that point SISU had two options slash the wage budget again to match L1 teams or keep the wage side roughly the same as last year. I think we are going for the 2nd option but using the cash a bit more wisely instead of going for a "franchise player" we are going for two decent players that look well scouted seems like we may be back to the unearthing gem days (hopefully). The player sales cash forget it, It will be used to cover more losses this season like it has for years but at least we are getting players in.

I disagree i feel there was every need. Im sick of reading constant comments demonstrating little knowledge of how finances work. If you choose not to accept my comment fine but i dont regret saying it as i beleive its true.

I'm very surprised at the response I've got from fellow fans from my post. There's people posting on here that were ranting on and sung Sisu Out at games!
Suddenly they bring in 7 players and everyone thinks it's all okay and we've have forgiven them!!!

What happens if they continue spending and bring the wage bill sky high, then we don't go up? We could be in the same situation we've been in the last 10 years!

I'm not turning 'Buying 7 players into a negative thing' I'm asking the question why have they left it till now to start bringing in players. Why didn't they realise that we were always going to lose Clingan and sell him to Leeds when they had their chance!

I don't know if you have forgotten but it was only roughly a month ago that this site was full of people ranting on about how sisu have killed the club and how the need to get out! Where are they now?

Tankie I agree with much that you say. I believe the failure goes back much further than last season. In the mid term it goes back to whatever business plan Ranson had which was clearly undone either by poor judgement or things being a lot worse when he actually took over than he thought or possibly a combination of both.

People need to understand there is no white knight, multi millionaire idiot willing to invest in the football club. There is a budget for the playing side of things and it makes sound business sense to operate within this budget ask OSB he will tell you. I do feel more optimistic since we appear to be going for some numbers this season which will give us some strength in depth for what is going to be a long old season with many games. I don't know if this is "The Last Chance Saloon " or not but it could be pivotal since I think next years budget will be lower if we don't get up this season. We now need people to back them get up the arena and get behind them and cheer them to success not be constantly moaning. PUSB!

I havent once sang SISU out or wanted them to just up and leave. I beleive the wage bill this year will be dramatically lower than last season. As for the Clingan comment how do we know Leeds even made a bid. Its not like they have rushed in now he is a free agent is it?

We're Third Division, struggling to pay the rent, have little or no money and people are moaning about getting players in on the cheap in order to balance the books?

What did people expect?

Its about bloody time the club was run as a business. If if was previously (by past owners and SISU), we wouldn't be in this mess.

My main concern at the moment is that were fooked once the injuries start piling up. The squad looks decent on paper, but then people were saying that last season.

I don't think SISU deserve gushing praise all of a sudden. However I do think that Steve Waggott has done one hell of a job to maximise what can be recruited on a shoestring. Without him at the club we'd be left with nobody who actually understands the market and the way to negotiate. Yes many high earners have left, but we have also lost just as much by getting relegated courtesy of SISU's incompetence. Hats off to Waggott, not SISU.
