He has been at the club for 14 years i would of thought, so for me he deserves a crack at a higher level and to get a better deal to secure his future,
if he can. In my eyes he owes us nothing and has been a decent performer overall, i would imagine he will be missed in and around the squad and probably a bit under valued by some of the fans. As for us plenty of cover within the club and coming in, Morgan may need pushing on and Thompson has his biggest year as a pro coming up, somebody has to step up and take his place, its natural progression and all clubs will be doing the same.
If he moves i hope he does well for him and for us as it will be another player that has came from our academy that is playing at a high level. This can only bring a positive outcome for potential future players to know they can make it and to know we are a club that gives chances and opportunities. Its a win, win if he steps up, so any hard feeling towards him is short sighted and makes no sense for all concerned.
I hope not directed at me! I was being very sarcastic!
I agree, it is a childish attitude. I don’t want him to leave, but he deserves a crack at a higher league and I’m not going to stick my bottom lip out over it and cross my arms.
Just spoken to Willis in Aldi by Cannon Park, I asked him the obvious question and he gave me the obvious answer, "nothing has been decided yet" .
Didn't he join us at 16 from Birmingham after being released?
Agree though he deserves the chance and we need to keep pathway open for more players of his ilk to come through.
That's the level that Birmingham's Academy is.Oh, i thought he came from AT7 kids football to the academy.
It's called the jobs market Fernando - Footballers are just like the rest of us just paid more, but for a limited time. Are you one of the ever diminishing band of one employer employees? Thank you JordanI don't buy into the good luck to him rubbish, this club gave him a massive opportunity and he repays it by fucking off on a free transfer.
Luton aren't even that rich. Also nailed on to get relegatedOh yeah great luck to him, the Thatcherite society
It's called having morals dickhead. Also lutin arent in a position to offer that much more. I think you miss my point, he can leave if he wants but by running down his contract he makes sure that the club that picked him up after Birmingham rejected him receive zero recompense for the time and money they've invested in him.???????so we hate anybody who leaves us??????? Not sure what he has done wrong. Scored a worldy at Wembley in play off final - that alone should give him some 'love'. Not many on here that would slag off Tommy Hutch or Huckerby are there?

He was asked if he wanted to go by robins he said noI heard we rejected a bid from them in January so we can't complain he's leaving on a free.

Footballers are generally ambitious types who want to play at the highest level.Fair enough if Willis wants and play at higher level I don’t knock anyone with ambition.
However not everyone moves jobs for more money etc. I could earn a lot more elsewhere, but I like what I do and who I work with so haven’t moved, I don’t have that thing in me to be best I can.
If I was a footballer I’d be like Matt Le tissier and rather stay somewhere where I could become a club legend.
Or if I was centre forward I’d rather play a div below my level and score goals every week than play at higher level but struggle.

Why is it 'having morals'?. So by your logic if an employee head hunted you and offered you a higher contract to effectively do the same job, would your morals tell you to turn that down then?.
Shouldnt laugh but that was quite goodTo be fair in David’s case I would imagine Burger King, McDonald’s, KFC and Subway all pay the same.

Who are you calling dickhead D O'D - Actually it doesn't matter. Subsequent replies have confirmed that there is only one dickhead in this triangle. Here is a clue it isn't me and it isn't Jordan. It's called having morals dickhead. Also lutin arent in a position to offer that much more. Fuck you Jordan see you back in league 1 soon.

Yeah but you hate all the academy kidsI also don’t get this “he’s been a good servant” for us. Coventry City has been a good servant for Jordan Willis and also stuck by him during that god awful team that went down to L2 while others were quite rightly booted out of the door.
Having said that the lower level (L2) has done him good and we can see how much he has improved in L1 this time around whereas last time he was as bad as the rest.
Won’t be losing too much sleep over it but wish him the best and there will be another Jordan Willis along soon enough.
You mean the Luton Town that had a bigger turnover, smaller losses, back to back automatic promotions, are building their own ground not just talking about ideas, have spent £26m on it so far, with a plan to have part of the development sold to make them debt free (sounds familiar), have improved their training ground spending £1.5m, already with a far better balance sheet than us and owners prepared to invest significant sums ........ that Luton Town ? They might fail in the Championship but they could also succeed, they certainly seem to be creating something viable
Willis hasn't done anything wrong in making a choice that benefits himself and those he cares about. Doesn't owe us anything. Good luck to him, except if he ever plays against CCFC
Apparently we offered Willis 100k signing fee and nearly 4k a week to stay but he is honouring his agreement to go to Luton.
