The issue is exactly that, they stop traffic on one side but then people just drive on the wrong side of the road.

I left the ground bang on the final whistle as had to get to the SkyDome for a 6pm start. The lane cars should be using to come out of Burbages Lane and turn left was coned off as usual but the other side of the road (ie: the side of the road for cars turning from Winding House onto Burabages) was not coned off and as usual cars were forcing their way through the pedestians, then speeding off up Winding House towards Wheelwright.

There's no way to turn right from Burbages onto Winding House even when there are no restrictions in place let alone when there are. It's a no right turn junction so there should be zero traffic at any time coming out of Burbages onto Winding House.

It was around a year ago tbf followed by a weird article about that candy floss stadium plan of ours following the Spurs match,both articles seemed strange, can't remember if that was placed in one of the nationals!

Is it the gypsy camp they're using for car parking? You can't get to Cov Welsh from that end can you and the roads too narrow to be street parking, not to mention it would be in the no parking zone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there can't be many houses on Burbages Lane that can't drive up to Wheelright Lane.

I'm pretty sure there aren't many houses downhill of the bollards.

At a guess it will be the stadium management team as it's the same traffic plan for all events but the actual road closure part will have to be the council. And I would bet they charge a fair amount of money for doing it.

Maybe that's the answer. Someone stops paying the invoices until they properly enforce it.

A couple of matches ago I asked the traffic staff standing around by the traffic lights why cars weren’t being stopped for using the wrong lane cutting across pedestrians and turning right. They said they had not been told to block off that lane.

It’s fairly normal to lose access to your road for events. When I lived in foleshill foleshill road was often shut for a bit. If your nan had a stroke or whatever they’d just let you through.
