Maybe. It would be a bald move though. He's training with Burnley at the moment, would he be worth signing on a free? I know he's nearly 33 but we have been crying out for a bit more creativity and experience.
i couild be wrong, but i always feel that older pros are looking for their last contract before sailing off into the sunset, there wont be any real desire for a player like him to push the team onward, hes been there and done it before.
Tim Sherwood's always the first to spring to my mind when thinking of over the hill pros stealing a wageDennis Wise, Gary McAllister.
I get your point though...for every Wise/McAllister, there's a Joe Cole, Yakubu and a few others.
I swear Yakubu was in his 60's when he signed for usDennis Wise, Gary McAllister.

Only one problem he never played for us although he was on the pitchI think I've told this story on here before but I met Yakubu in a nightclub on the outskirts of Chichester when he was at Pompey...must have been early-mid noughties.
I was a few beers to the worse and walked to him and said 'so when are you joining Coventry City then Yak'. He looked at me as if I just sh!t on his trainers and one of his entourage motioned as if to say 'move on pal'.
Little did I know that he took on board that question and answered it many years later. Albeit well passed his prime!
