Ok there has been enough talk on here from both sides of the fence regarding who is our worst striker, poor player, january transfer window etc.

so if you could have a clear out in January of a few players taking into acount our current injury list and league position who would you off load, get off the wage bill even if it ment the club taking a loss and why ?
Secondly if we could bring one or two in to improve our squad, replace those let go who and why ?
Be realistic

Kastaneer
Bakayoko
Ponticelli
Maycock

Allasani
Junior brown

Surely enough wages there even if we flog all of them for £1 each to get a decent striker and another player

Baka, Hiwula, Wakefield, McFadzean, + those who are out on loan.

Would like to see a couple of wingers come in, new centre back with a bit of pace, McFadzean is not the worst centre back to play for us but he does cost us goals, and a proper goal threat up front.

I think Jorge Grant is decent.

The problem is Kastaneer is 6 months in a 3 year contract. He was signed as an apparent marquee signing and will be on a good wage

Bakayoko is easier as his contract is up at the end of the season

Not a chance in hell will Bakayoko get a contract next season even if he does chip in with 5/6 more goals this season. Simply isn’t good enough.

Bakayoko
Ponticelli
Maycock

Out

Maybe we could offer Mansfield Bakayoko and Ponticelli for Danny Rose

Might still need to pay a small fee on top

You could tell it was kastaneer when he was warming up simply by the size of him. How can a pro footballer be so overweight?

Which means that in order to avoid a Beavon-esque waste of money we need to find a way to get him back to fitness and form.

It's Christmas - we can try the brussel sprout diet. Even if he doesn't lose weight, no-one would go near him on the pitch (especially if he's still blowing out of his arse after 10 minutes!

Baka is the stand out one for me if we can get a few for him or Hiwula to reinvest,I feel McCallum will go for a good fee with add ons etc in jan...

Bright was who we all wanted but where would he fit in ? I feel the midfield is strong for me I would put all my eggs into one basket...a proven striker the rest of the squad is healthy defence is decent midfield is very strong with Allen now back Jodi Jones is mega close.Put a proper striker next to Godden for the promotion push with max to come in as and when needed.

I suspect once Max has finished his suspension we may see Kasta in the U21s
Robins is a hard bugger and will make it clear to Kasta that he puts a shift in or he's got no future here
It says everything that with Robins so short of players yesterday he preferred to give two kids their debuts rather than trust Kastaneer

I think better days has also posted that Kastaneer is not a favourite in the dressing room because of his kamikaze approach

Yes, a marquee signing, but I bet no-one imagined that he would actually look the size and shape of a marquee though.

Short memories wanting Hiwula to move on. He missed a few sitters before his injury, but offers do much more and I'm convinced would be a great partnership with Max. Not even in the sane league as performances from Baka and proved he can score in. L1 more than simply last sesson. Moving him on would be a mistake in my opinion.

It is a bit of a worry that we had four midfielders yesterday that were all the same type of player and Kastaneer didn’t get near. Also yesterday at the end Shipley was blowing out of his arse at the end yet stopped on at that point the reserve goalie would have been a better bet than him.

Think Baka will leave in January.
And junior brown

Think we need to play two up front

Been on the forum for years but never posted, I have been to a lot of matches this season and really believe we are the best team in the division just need a striker.
I would go all out to sign Eoin Doyle on a short term contract as the ginger messy is on fire and is out of contract at the end of the season.
Only 31 and wouldn’t cost loads

I think our strikers will be fine in the current formation when fit. The only addition id make is get Bright back if we can.

A lot will depend on how Godden, Jones, Allen, Hiwula and Max are doing
I really don't see Baka going as he has a good attitude and it's possible he will do better with a partner alongside him

With our luck with injuries, I doubt we can clear anyone out.

I think we could do with doing what we can to sign a striker. Other than that, perhaps another winger and CB? But, then again, our young CBs look good.

5-3-2/5-4-1 has been serving us well so I’m happy to for us to keep the midfield and defence as it is. I would like to see Hiwula and Gooden as a front two at some point though as they would probably compliment each well.

Totally agree im happy with most areas but we seriously need a proven striker. When was the last time a striker scored ?

Why bring back someone who disrespected the club and fans with his on line antics and telling Robins he wanted to sign but clearly didnt. He went for the financial option and its backfired. Hes not played a first team game all season so he wouldnt even be upto speed

Or he backed his talent after a good stint in League One and took the next natural step in his career?

I did think he would come unstuck though in a higher division as he wouldn’t have the free role he would here. Robins said that he’s a difficult and complex character who needs love

Highest scorer in Europe apart from Shankland at Dundee apparently but can't play for us as he has already played for Bradford and Swindon this season.
Info from my son who lives in Swindon so can't verify the accuracy of facts!

Doyle for me is similar to Godden & Max I think we go for a premiership academy player arsenal etc someone who’s quick and nippy in the mould of a Jermaine Defoe type striker
