You might be surprised to know that many City fans i speak with do not blame Pressley for present our predicament - they seem to agree that he has had to do this job with one arm tied behind his back - they all agree that he developed a good side that was capable of potentially winning this league until he was told to off load due to the wage bill - all these new manager names being thrown about how would they approach the job given the same constraints as SP works under - until that changes no manager would make any difference
The sum is now less than the individual parts in my opinion. It is becoming apparent that we have developed a predictable pattern of play - passing backwards and sideways for the sake of it. Six passes when two will do, indicative of a team desperate to keep possession simply to try to prevent the other team from scoring rather than to score themselves. If Pressley wants this he must know we have absolutely nothing to offer in the final third. It's like throwing a tomato against a brick wall and wondering why it falls apart. Something needs to change and it increasingly seems that the manager has no answer, except the usual " they were excellent today, I can't fault their effort"
I have been a supporter of SP up until recently but I am running out of patience. Relegation is highly likely and is totally unacceptable. People ask what is the alternative but very soon any alternative will look more attractive.
Tenner says a good manager would make a massive difference.
.
Over what period of time?
I'll have a tenner with you that if the next manager is here as long as SP and SISU are still here our situation is no better. If he gets sacked before that period is up you also owe me a tenner but if he resign's all bets are off.
There can be no doubt that SP has had to operate under difficult conditions and tight constraints, possibly including the fact that he might not have had full say over a number of loanees (notably, those from Bournemouth). However, the two things that stand out for me is his apparent inexperience in man management, as exemplified by the outcomes of his bomb squads, and his tactical inflexibility.
The view of the Falkirk fan on SP, posted on these boards some months ago - and since reposted as a reminder - is worth reading again.
So is waggott and fisher picking the team? including the wheeling and dealing? PRESSLEY is just the puppet representing the team?

Conditions and constraints noted; but it seems to me that SP rode off the back of Robins squad in his first 9 months, and has been now
found out.
Interesting differences. For us, I would say he was not a bad judge of a player, but was absolutely clueless at putting an effective team on the park. His brand of football could be for the most part, excruciatingly boring. He was always more worried about trying to nullify the opposition rather than imposing the things we were good at.
Obviously he brought young players into our team, but he had little or no choice in the matter. He always gives his players excuses for not winning, and it does become a bit tedious.
For all that, he is by all accounts, a very decent and honourable guy, and will give your cause everything that he has to give. Whether that's enough, only you guys can decide.
One other thing.......Pressleys brand of scaredy cat football meant that whenever you played anyone above you in the league, it was near enough certain that you wouldn't win. Whenever we played what he thought to be a "big name" side in the league, he would have the players completely psyched out of winning the game. This happened time and time again. He presided over an away draw and an away 1-4 defeat against Cowdenbeath that were two of the most negative and cowardly performances I have ever seen from us (until yesterday).
Pressleys best quality was his evangelical preaching on his football philosophy.
Even after crap results and performances. I saw him have the most gnarled embittered supporters singing his praises after a fans meeting or AGM.
I think he's not a bad manager, his negative tactics in our situation certainly grated, but I'd swap him for our current manager in a heartbeat.
I think it should also be decided when the manager is appointed too, in case they get Thorn back
Happy to have a tenner for charity that if a good manager is here it would make a difference.
I'd go for a tenner to charity. Who's going to decide if he's a good manager though. If he gets the sack in 6 months I dont want you to turn around and say "but he wasn't a good manager so it doesn't count"
Wrong, his is tactically inept, there is also something fundamentally wrong within the team and Pressley has caused it.
There is a lot of truth in this, Pressley is struggling tactically, but it's true, his first team performed well and were sold off and now he has a whole bunch of youngsters peppered with a bunch of inadequate desperados to work with.
Why has he had one arm tied behind his back? Have other league one teams got no restrictions?
Tenner says a good manager would make a massive difference.
This is like the talk of fergie not being able to do any better than thorn.
We have had not had a single successful manager for as long as I can remember (someone else who has more time can list them), and throughout all of SISU's tenure the approach to transfer policy has been absolutely consistent, the crowds have reduced as most have seen their strategy lead to the continual demise of the club on and off the field. The remaining fans continue to labour under the false belief that normal football rules apply and donate their income to an entity that has no passion for the club or its fans IMO. Still lets ignore the evidence of the past few years and get back to tactics.:sarcasm:
To be fair all our managers since SISU arrived have had at least one arm tied behind their back. It's amazed me how long most of them have stopped as they all appear clever enough to work out that they have been fed lies and bullshit since they were first interviewed for the job.You might be surprised to know that many City fans i speak with do not blame Pressley for present our predicament - they seem to agree that he has had to do this job with one arm tied behind his back - they all agree that he developed a good side that was capable of potentially winning this league until he was told to off load due to the wage bill - all these new manager names being thrown about how would they approach the job given the same constraints as SP works under - until that changes no manager would make any difference

For Christs sake let's get SISU out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know of a good charity you could donate it to the ccfc former players association.I'd go for a tenner to charity. Who's going to decide if he's a good manager though. If he gets the sack in 6 months I dont want you to turn around and say "but he wasn't a good manager so it doesn't count"
