I really don't know what to expect from this season. Not relegation but aside from that not a clue at this moment in time. The way that the transfer market has worked out for us so far I wouldn't be surprised if we're loan heavy again and I think we learnt last season that can contribute to inconsistent performances.

Hmm, sort of get that, but as we got Armstrong and Murphy on loan and they did fantastically well for us at the start of last season, we have every reason to believe that we are going to be able to recruit well in the loan market this season too.

Much more reason to be optimistic rather than pessimistic (as long as you believe we will still recruit).

Obvious stance though is to wait and see until the squad is complete before passing judgement.

I think I must have watched a different set of highlights. We scored 2, had one cleared off the line, Thomas forced their keeper into two good saves and DKE should have scored when he lobbed it over the keeper. RCC didn't have to make a decent save and we had as much of the ball in the highlights as they did only we actually created clear chances when we had it.

We've now scored 2 goals in every game so far and yesterday we were missing Jones, Stokes, McCann, Lamerias, Ricketts and Thomas who will all make the squad that played yesterday stronger. On top of this there will be more players coming in, if we can add a couple of good additions in defence I don't see us struggling.

I think you must have mate considering Newport had a goal disallowed(seemed ok to me... very late flag) and do you mean the "Lob" that went 10 yards over the bar? and not forgetting the the cross from the Newport winger that RCC misjudged that hit the bar?

I would argue right now , our midfield is better today than it was 12 months ago, the winger situation is about 1000% better for a start ffs.

In tm we trust. We finished 8th last season without even trying the Second half of the season.

Trying to name a trialist is a bit different to somebody not knowing ricketts or tudgay who have played loads.

Why is anyone taking any notice of pre season. Win them all, lose them all, it doesn't matter. It's about fitness and trying systems and integrating new players. Results are not an indication of how the season will go. I'm frustrated too with the lack of signings and the sale of 1 or 2 but TM and MV are working on it. Be patient. Come first game we will have a competitive first 11. My expectations this season? 1st, 6th, 17th??? My hope is improvement and pushing forward. In one way we already have by making 2 permanent signings rather than loans.

Exactly.

Pre-season is to fiddle about with systems, give a few young players and trialists a run out and chop and change, see what works and what doesn't.

Don't see how you can put any credence in a friendly game when it's not even the same team for two halves and usually a completely different 11.

This whole thread is laughable. Friendlys are for match fitness. Not the result not player performance purely for fitness. Results do not matter in the slightest everybody stop panicking. Doesn't Matter about the quality of opposition. No one wants to get injured or over exert themselves think some people expect us to play like Barcelona and if we're not in a ten minute highlight video it's all doom and gloom ....honestly save it for the competitive games.
