Wycombe fan here in peace. Fantastic draw for us ;)

Just wondering, having watched the football league show for a few weeks now your home attendances always seem very low (understandably in protest at your current owners) so why are all Coventry fans so excited by this tinpot trophy?

Good luck!

Quiet simply really....No success for 30 years and a downward spiral since relegation from the premier league

We haven't won anything for 30 years
There you go. There's your answer.

Not for 30 years, plus no promotions, no playoffs, no top 6 finishes.

Last top 6 finish was well over 40 years ago.

Because with us going down it might be the only highlight of our very poor season.

Yep, probably 40% of our fan base haven't ever seen us come close to success.

I've supported Coventry since the late 90s and have seen nothing but relegation, administrations, ground shares, points deductions and so on. Getting to Wembley would mean everything to me.

47 years with no top 6 finish. All my friends from other clubs finish every text with #47 Says it all as to why people are excited but shouldn't you be too, neither of clubs can effectively win any other trophy so other than promotion, this is sadly the next biggest thing.

Wembley is Wembley. Our fans are so dejected and low after years and years of pathetic ownership, terrible football and barely a sniff of success of any form, not to mention 40+ years without a top 6 finish, and no excitement since 1987.

If we can have a day out at wembley and a chance to win something, it's all we've got.

Because we haven't been to Wembley since 1987, where as all of the other teams left in the competition have been to Wembley in fairly recent times. Our younger fans deserve a day out at Wembley.

The new generation of fans NEED something to look back on too, no matter how shit this cup is.

I think every other club has had a top 6 finish in about the last 17 years (we have been 47)
There are not many left who have not appeared at wembley in the last 30 years
we are always shit
17th in the league is our natural place (unless we have a bad year)

that is why this is not a tin pot competition - this is a bigger competition than the champions league

Tin pot or not, its a cup that's aimed at this level of football, which whether we like it or not, is our level (just about) so the fact that we are doing well in it, and every other reason outlined above is why!

Any reason your fans are so confident of a Wembley trip already?

You're a league lower (admittedly not much in position between the two clubs), we've won every game we've played in this competition and we've already beat you this season?

I'm not saying we'll smash you but it's probably the draw most supporters of CCFC would have wanted which is why we're optimistic.

Why was this draw prefered over luton or yeovil?

Don't they have Oxford or Bradford to beat yet? I'd prefer Yeovil at home or even Luton but they have to beat Bradford or Oxford yet.

Hopefully we get one of them in the final ;)
Oxford are playing Bradford in the quarters.
So the Yeovil/Luton draw would have been better IMO.

Luton Town or Yeovil are playing Oxford or Bradford aren't they?
As in, in the draw we could have been playing:
Wycombe
The winner of Luton v Yeovil
The winner of Oxford v Bradford

So the Luton/Yeovil draw would probably have been more favourable than Wycombe.
