Gone to Lincoln to join his mate Matt Rhead

Lucky they had a "source close the the player" who could tell us how we missed out.

What an absolute rag

Cue outrage that such a tiny club like Lincoln has beaten such a massive club like us to a player, based on a report in a paper that's been absolutely nowhere in terms of our signings so far.

We probably did show an interest but then opted to go for Biamou instead who is younger and more potential I would say.

Proven at this level in 2 spells with Mansfield with a league two strike ratio or just over 1 in 4.5 games.
However Maxime Biamou playing style is very similar to Matt Green so again it's looks like MR and TW knew he was favouring Lincoln so pressed ahead to get Biamou so at least they have one in of that style of striker.

We don't wanna end up like last year where we delay our business hanging on till they sign for someone else. We need to do our business.
We gonna get knocked back by a few players it's only natural, it's how MR responds is the key and while Biamou don't look like the first choice currently due to his cv and step up but he looks powerful and possesses pace and skill. All the attributes seem there to handle it.
So looks likely he can handle the challenge, after all he has had a season to learn the English game.

You think they're lying?
I think they could well be lying about the source close to the player, and the rest is shameless spin. It's actually embarrassing. Works well to rally the frothing loonies back up again just when we seem to have been doing some decent business in the transfer market and people are feeling positive.

Just a coincidence I'm sure

Another opportunity to tenuously crowbar in some moaning about the Telegraph......

Which the telegraph initiated themselves.
If the next door neighbours cat shits in my garden I'm going to moan about it.
How did they do that? Campaigning for SISU to sell? What a bunch of bastards......

What? I'm glad they campaigned for Sisu to sell, so sniff my ballsack mr strawman.
What are you complaining about then? Why the hate?

I just don't like the way they work. It's usually clickbait headline nonsense. I appreciate that's how most 'news' agencies work now, but it doesn't stop me from disliking it.
It's the same with all of their articles and not exclusive to CCFC news.

  • Why is Coventry ranked one of the most stressed cities in the UK?
  • Love Island set for its biggest ever twist - and it will change everything
  • Five stories you must read before bed

So I like to have little digs at them with their "We understand" bollocks. Why are you so keen to defend them? Why are you bothered? I'm just having a bit of a laugh passing the time at work.

This is the hot new contender for SHOWS HOW FAR WE'VE FALLEN of the week.

Came in just to say that. By lunchtime we'll have a load of 'This shows how far we have fallen under SISU' comments in a CT 'Top ten reactions to Luton signing a player that CCFC maybe might have considered signing at some point. Possibly.'

I'm not defending them, I just ask why they seem to provoke an increasingly strong anti- reaction. I couldnt' care less - never once have I bought one of their papers so it's not like I am a loyal customer.

Personally I think they did a good job trying to put pressure on SISU and expose stuff like the training ground being hawked about (and previously when it was secretly mortgaged) but I suspect that many on here dislike them because they see the CET, wrongly, as anti-CCFC and think that they are slagging off the club.

But it's your opinion and I'm not challenging it. The points you raise seem to be common amongst most newspapers now including nationals, sadly.

Despite my comment above I have no problem with the CT, for the most part. Andy Turner is a fine reporter and has my sympathy with regards the conditions he has to work in with no access to the Club, lack of staffing (I remember the CT sports desk having five full-time members, now it seems to be just Andy plus whoever from the web team chips in now and then with galleries and click bait).

The whole click bait thing is a much wider issue. That is journalism in 2017, unfortunately. Local newspapers hijack nationwide stories (there was a recent one where a whole bunch of local papers ran the same story about a Drive Through Greggs opening in Manchester) and rinse them for every click that they can. And then there's the ads. I tried to read something on the Leicester Mercury's site yesterday. I had to click off two ads, one video which automatically started playing with sound and answer a survey just so I could get past the first paragraph!

Unfortunately, we are entering a realm where journalism is that kind of bullshit that we see on Twitter where a website makes an entire news story out of a single Tweet. There was one I saw yesterday where one of those sites 'reported' that a fan had tweeted a Bayern player about leaving them. The player tweeted back saying 'hahaha.' They made an entire story out of this with a headline something along the lines of 'A fan tweeted a Bayern player, you'll never guess his response.' I'm just about to leave the journalism profession because of shit like this. I hate it. Rant over.
