Someone on here (@Rich maybe?) knew Bedworth very well when I was looking at a house in Coalpit Fields.

Just wondering if they’re about and had any thoughts on Marston Lane (right at the end by the canal)?

It’s alright down there. Much the same as Coalport fields tbh, but at the bottom of a hill.

It’s nice down there, but some people do still honk at the bridge. Could get a bit annoying. I think the houses are a decent size.

Houses down there are decent, can do a lot with them. Only downside is the road is busier than it looks as people use it to get to Bulko, Attleborough. That said they’re set back from the road.

Moved to Bedworth from finham and was a bit of an eye opener at first but come to really like the place. People are down to earth and will say hello even if they don’t know you.

Good value houses, pretty decent for parks and walks.

Ha! Same move I’m doing (via Earsldon), I’m trying to reprogram myself from years of “Bedduth” stereotypes before I get there 😂

I've got a lot of time for Bedworth, have worked with some good lads from that neck of the woods and used to go for a pint occasionally down Collycroft.

Grew up in Bedworth and worked a lot in Nuneaton. Both town's are not a patch on what they used to be in terms of night life, but the people are friendly, and if I am honest there are times when I really miss them. At the other end of Marston lane is The Miners, a cracking little pub that is worth a visit. In the town (Bedworth) there is probably one of the best bakers for miles called 'Harry's'.

Never heard about the dogging though!!!!!

That part is not such a bad part of town. Although if you have young children it's worth bearing in mind there's a canal very nearby, and the road as mentioned above can occasionally have some reasonable traffic on it (and fast moving traffic on the Nuneaton side of the bridge).

On the other hand being close to the canal could be a bonus, you're close to the fields, there's the football pitches, recreation ground behind the cemetery, and another decent park area right up at the top of Marston Lane.

I'm in the other boat, as i'm in the process of moving away from Bedworth...

I always envisage it as the type of place where Bingo is popular

Strong Dudley vibes. My daughter also said it’s the only place she’s seen a horse randomly run down the road on its own (also a positive in her opinion). Something I’ve only ever seen before in Dudley.

But then again, people in Dudley were lovely, even if they did think it was 1975.

It's no worse (nor better) than many other similarly sized towns.

The biggest shame for me is the town centre... when you look at it, with the church at the top, the Almshouses, and the Miners Park nearby, it could really be a lovely town centre... but the ugly arcades and precincts full of poundshops, charity shops and cardshops really bring it down. And the Tesco monstrosity too.

Similar issues to Coventry but on a smaller scale.

If the building in hawkesbury goes ahead the town and park are set for mega makeovers. Town plan looks very good indeed.

Ive seen a woman walking a horse on a rope on a bit of grass while in a mobility scooter.

Surreal.
