I think the transfer stuff tends to actually be pretty secretive from what I know. I don't think some of the backroom staff know about some players coming in until they walk through the doors for a medical.

If this is true (and until either club confirms it, I’m hesitant to get too excited), then it’s a hell of a statement of intent IMO.

My only real concern is that if we’re spending that sort of money on one player (which is fine by me), then do we have more to play with than we think because Hamer is also on his way to pastures new?

Hopefully just my internal paranoia kicking in but would love to see this and a Hamer extension announced at lunchtime tomorrow.
