Coventry City's average league gate fell by 27 per cent in their first season since their relegation from the Championship.
The Sky Blues averaged 10,973 in 2012/13 to make them the third most supported club in League One - down from 15,120 the previous campaign.
City are the 24th best supported club in the Football League.
But the Sky Blues travelling support rose by 21 per cent to an average of 1,115 - the second highest in the division.
The 4,009 City supporters who made the trip to the MK Dons was the tenth biggest away following for any game in the Football League, although on the the day the number was declared nearer to the 5,000 mark which would take City up to fourth.
The Ricoh Arena attracted on average the second highest number of away fans (812) in League One.
