Win our games in hand and we go 9th 😂
Heard and then saw a stat yesterday that Blackburn were top but lost more games than us!
What a bonkers league

Not buying that we were 'awful' last night. Created little sure, but thought we competed well, and apart from the two speculative efforts that hit the woodwork, SU didn't do much. In fact, did they create a genuine chance all night?

Cancelled each other out for the most part, and hardly a classic, but I didn't think we were awful at all.

Also said in his post match interview it was a great tackle
I’ve got a feeling that the manager is worried about his player being retrospectively banned.

Not sure how it works but think Godden v Fulham and the “dive” and the subsequent ban.

If I were MR I’d be putting an email together to the FA or FL or whoever. It’s also a better way to get Stroud a black mark rather than a straight complaint. Refs cover each others backs and a complaint often backfires over the next few matches.

All that said, our players need protecting. About 18 months ago Dabo was a different player until he was repeatedly hammered by opposing defenders. He’s now worried about taking players on (IMO) and had lost a yard of pace.

Get the cheating SUFC player a long ban.

I think we were pretty poor on the ball for the first hour TBF. I’m not sure we even had a shot until Hamers attempt was saved.

Cos he got booked it can’t be appealed I think. Godden fooled the ref so that’s what he got. Ironically if the ref had done what he was going to and not even penalised him i think he’d be banned retrospectively. But the ref has saved him.

Neither were they though, they kept playing long, straight balls to nobody. I notice how the match highlights skip the 1st half completely, neither team did anything.

Our ball retention was poor, but they were pressing like maniacs. That did impress me, that they managed to sustain that high energy, high press pretty much all night. That's the sort of side we struggle against, and it certainly affected our fluency, but I thought we were solid and to emerge with all 3 points is a huge bonus.

Eccles and Allen just don’t pass forward or break the lines at all, there was a huge gap and Godden and Györkeres just had to chase big lumps up field cos there’s no options ahead of the midfield.

I get why Robins does it, we’re on a crap run and he wants to stop the run so he plays three hardworking CMs in a flat three and it works (we didn’t same first season up) but by his it kills any fluency and is horrible to watch.
Allen was breaking the lines with his running in the first half but we just delay the pass or its executed poorly.

Clearly excessive force and out of control. Would love to hear Mr Strouds explanation for why it wasn’t a red card. I think he would say he wasn’t off the floor.

I thought their best chance came immediately after the 2nd time they hit the post. I Really think he should have scored the header.
They appeared to dominate us at times but I also remember thinking similar at Bristol City. I think we just are defending deeper/flooding the box more than previously…and it seems to be working for us.
Having said that Our passing was pretty shit at times last night.

Pretty sure they can't overrule it. If the ref had missed the incident (and not yellow carded him) then it could be looked at retrospectively, but as he saw it and deemed it a yellow, then it doesn't get looked ay again (although there must be something in the rules that lets them deal with severe things, e.g. a Luis Suarez ear bite, that is originally misdiagnosed a s a 'foul' ?!)

It's hard sometimes but you have to remember that Sheffield United would have gone top of the league last night with a win

They looked very poor themselves. For the players they’ve got at their disposal they should really have blown us away yesterday

Makes me chuckle when you see away fans saying “worst team we have played” like they are some kinda wonder team.

Both teams were equally as shit as each other.

Coventry
6th in current form table, with 3 goals scored and 1 conceded...crikey
Surprisingly Sheff utd and Norwich are 22nd and 23rd, with the baggies at the bottom.
Top of current form is Swansea, who have conceded 10 goals in last 6 games (13 scored).

QP Rangers makes me feel very uneasy

Possession last night Cov 49 Blunts 51, certainly didn't feel like that, I thought they had much more of the ball.
Absolutely delighted with the win, ref absolutely garbage.

palmer pen shout at around 38 second in.

No idea what the ref saw as defender makes no attempt to play ball and turns in to palmer.

I don’t think it’s a penalty.

Palmer’s lost control of the ball. I think he runs into the defender more than anything.

I still think the ref was appalling.

Yep, it looked more of a penalty last night, but not that much in it on the replay.

Gyokeres foul definitely was though

Agree with Heckingbottom that that challenge on Dabo did finally put some spark into the game. Doesn’t justify the dirty bastard going in like that though.

100%.
i couldn’t understand what the delay in giving it was. I thought the prick was gonna let it go!

The foul on Dabo…reminded me of the one that he got sent off for against cardiff. I think the ref was unsighted for it but if he’d seen it think it would’ve been a red.

near the scrapyard. They started it but came second best. Idiots
It was also kicking off near the memorial where the ambulances park. Looked like a small group with hoods up came from the direction of the casino and just started on random cov fans. A few cov lads then jumped in, most of the sheff lads then ran off but two stayed and got right battering. It was not nice for my 2 kids to witness sat in the car.
