Good news this for me. Proved myself and others wrong who had started to write him off last season with his performances when he had a run of games. A solid pro and leader whose influence on and even more so off the pitch shouldn’t be underestimated. He will help keep the dressing room together in a season of which should be a high turnover of players.

Captain that was deemed not good enough and majority of the fan base agreed we would have to improve on this season.
It's debatable whether he will or should be captain next season - I imagine he'll spend most of his time on the bench.
Speak for yourself. I was always in favour of renewing and his last few games last season proved that was the right decision
