Brentford splashed a lot of cash to get out of L1 but he has done an excellent job this season. He's still relatively inexperienced so could be feasible.

And I'm always wary of managers who come in and have an instant impact anywhere, not to say he isn't good enough but how much of what he's achieved is down to Uwe Rosler laying the foundation over the previous 2/3 seasons?
So what, the constant chopping and changing hasn't helped us over many, many years.
We need to be tolerant and much, much more patient back and support a manager over a longer period of time.
Elvis has a plan & vision but in the modern soccer world, it takes time to make the necessary changes, top to bottom! PUSB!

But then on the other hand you might think 'honesty is the best policy'. If he's not going to be able to work how te owners want to set up, probably best he let's them know that rather than bleed the club dry on taking his weekly wage despite not actually being happy where he is....

Been rumoured for a couple of weeks they've wanted a foreign manager to take them to the next level.

There was also a rumour he refused to sign a foreign player the board were trying to get because he hadn't seen him play and that caused friction with the owners.

They've got quite a wealthy backer, and a nice new stadium turning up shortly.

Problem with Pressley's plan is that Sisu won't let it come to fruition. They won't keep good experienced players ( Murphy, Baker) who would like to stay. They will sell at the first opportunity any younger player they receive an offer for (Wilson, Bigi). They have a track record of letting good players run down their contracts. It is impossible to see how any manager could succeed when the current model seems to be to replace better players with inferior, cheaper players. He may have a plan and a vision. The surprising thing is that he hasn't come clean and admitted that with Sisu he has no chance of achieving this.

So RFC, if ( maybe when) we get relegated will you suggest we keep SP as manager in League 2. At what point will you decide that enough is enough.
I put put this to you. SP will have a clause in his contract that means his contract pay off diminishes based on the current league position at a given point. I suggest that we enter the bottom 4, he will be sacked and Hockaday takes over.
He is only still here due to pay off costs. No football team in history has continued with a manager through a period of decline such as ours due to a "long term plan' and consistency.
What is this long term plan anyway. Nurture youth and invest in them through long term contracts to get us back in the Championship. Haha. Bring in hungry your professionals from non league. Haha or bring in short term ad hoc loaness that are here for a couple of months.

Just a thought but if we want a manager with a proven track record to replace SP this on it's own will mean it will never happen. Think about it, to have a proven track record you must be a good at making the right decisions and who with that qualification is going to accept a job at Coventry?
