I read of the sky-blue trust and ideas of purchasing shares or maybe buying the club etc which is greatly appreciated and applauded by all of our fans and personally thank them for their genuine care and commitment but i think we should start getting realistic on what the outside investors with pot loads of money really think
FACT- The vultures that see a bargain will be presenting their plans in my recokning approx end of May and upwards of 25 creditable suitors will be in the long queue of investors
A certain Mr Haskell has acknowledged his interest early and professionally and is awaiting the right moment along with others that have kept quiet for business reasons
Remember our club is completely different to the other struggling clubs that will be trying to find a buyer in the summer as it has so much going for it commercially as with most of the rest a substantial fee will be asked for the football side (Birmingham city example £80 million i think) and they haven't got casinos, concerts, tennis , rugby and land to develop and with the shares on the stadium offered at knock down price for the correct investors this has got to be an investors dream. I would be worried if we were in MK dons position a nice stadium no fan base, and no outside commercial activity of note a white elephant! We are a million miles apart, and the real money people know this
Rumour has it one of the interested parties that hasn't officially made themselves known until the time is right (like I would imagine a few more) want to bring a big-name rugger club to share the stadium? again rumours but makes commercial sense and an added plus the pitch resembles a rugger pitch at the moment .
Our future is more than secure as I am one of the positive people on the forums as you don't think for one moment that many high profile business people in our community, including people in the council would let the club die, as irrelevant of the football side the council will still want to develop as originally planned the area around the stadium and with the many possible European grants available again an investors dream.
Many prospective buyers acknowledge going forward the football side will not be the largest side of the business at the start of their investment but of course see it as a very important part of the future plans, particularly if we get back in the premier, and they may have to wait longer than expected for that reality and returns but can expand the other parts of the business whilst waiting and will, then benefit in long-term gains.
It might seem like the end of the world and the moment but let's be positive as we have a lot going for us and a great future no matter what comes in between with docked points, etc.
