Apparently Madders played a lot of poker in the casino while he was injured. My mate who is an avid player but not a CCFC fan said he was a good guy.

As long as he doesn't end up down the Merson route....

Got my pic taken Killer when he was at Swindon. Brilliant. Got my pic taken with Phil Neal on the same day. Not so brilliant.

Then at the 'homecoming' game vs Gillingham I was walking round the ground and saw Reda walking in from his car so got a pic then. And at last seasons home game against Crewe, I met Gynn and Bennett and had my pic taken with them before meeting Fleck in the players lounge afterwards.

Met Nick Pickering in KFC. Cant remember what we talked about, but he was wearing very white shiny shoes.

Met Dean Emerson and David Speedie several times in pubs in Ryton. Both top blokes, and liked their beer.

One year in town, the City team were out on their Christmas Drink, all dressed in 70's gear. As nice as a bloke John Williams could be, when drunk he was an absoloute muppett. Luckily some of the other players noted it, and got him to wind his neck in. Spoke at length to Peter Atherton, and David Rennie who were both happy to give their own time, to chat about the club and football in general, and for all Rennies faults on the pitch both he and Atherton were true gents off it.

Does he still walk them down in the memorial park?
Have chatted to him a couple of times, shy but a nice bloke.

Yes in the Memorial park he lives very close by, as do I

I've been lucky enough to have met the likes of Glazier,Hudson,Machin,Speedie, and Jimmy Hill. When we were kids we would get autographs and I managed to get the signatures of Greaves,Best,Bobby Charlton, and Banks, and we used to cycle up to Shilton where the City trained back then and on one occasion Jimmy Hill came over and not only let us get all the players autographs, but gave me one of the balls they'd been training with. And a few years back I cleaned the windows of Ernie Machin's house on Ansty Road and often we chatted about his career, and he was a smashing bloke.

Saw Chris Coleman in a pub toilets in Surrey not long after he'd been sacked. He was drinking in there with Steve Kean and Geoff Shreeves. Nice enough to say hi to me when I told him I was a Cov fan, but left it at that.

Saw Callum Wilson in Jam Jam Boomerang a few days before he signed for Bournemouth. He was with his son on his own - really nice guy. Alas his little boy Ritchie wasn't interested in one of my many daughters... :) He went and had a little kick around with him in the enclosed basketball/softball court.

My mates and I had an "incident" with Hartson and Palmer one Monday night on Spon Street after they had both been in Jumping Jacks.

It was just after Hartson had announced he wouldn't leave us "even to captain Man United" and then it was promptly rumoured that he was pissing off to Celtic.

They were getting in a taxi with two absolute rotters when verbals were exchanged and Palmer, quite randomly, shouted I'm not just a footballer you know before scurrying in the taxi where it was relieved of one of its windows (not by me may I add).

Have since heard/read that they are both good guys but they were a pair of bell ends that night.

Sounds like Kevin Thornton, starting on anybody he could before hiding behind people who only hung about with him because he was buying them drinks.

I was at and end of season awards and Marcus Hall and another player were in the toilets, Marcus Hall said "Marp" but it wasn't with his mouth then him and the other player got the giggles

Looked at the Urban dictionary, and it doesnt reflect well on Marcus if all he could say was Marp. ;)

Person 1 (8:31:10 PM): MARP!
Person 2 (8:31:35 PM): What the hell is wrong with you?

My mate saw Dion Dublin in the gym showers once, the only word he could use to describe the experience was "whopper"

Oi, the "marp" came from me, mate. He "marped" me in Virgin Megastore in '95. ;)

Now the "marping" makes sense. He did seem to glaze over a bit as I said: "Alright, Marcus?".
