If I have gotten my maths and figures correct SISU were offered at a special rate by the Higgs trust for 10 million pounds as a starting point to buy half the stadium then it seems the idea was to invest and climb the leagues and by the time they got to the premier league possibly purchase the stadium outright
Therefore why would they want to build their own stadium at a cost of many more millions to build an inferior stadium and spend so much more when they had it on a plate and very quickly could have earned half revenues from all sorts of concerts, exhibitions, etc, held at the Ricoh and answered their own questions on self funding and getting a good slice of the cake
