Peter Oosterhuis has died after 10 years of suffering from Altzheimers.Very good golfer played few times in the Ryder cup great golfer and by all accounts a great guy RIP.
He's forgotten more about golf than I'll ever know.

Sad to Duane Eddy has died saw him many times at the Coventry Theatre along with many other Americian acts.RIP
Wow! Duane Eddy only came to light with me in the mid '80's when the Peter Gunn theme was redone.
Loved his ringing, twanging, rock 'n' roll guitar playing.
Closest I came was seeing (by pure chance) Bert Weedon performing at a caravan park in Mablethorpe in 1983 :ROFLMAO:

Genuinely never heard of Duane Eddy?
Mere youngster you.Enjoy.He was a great guitar player who came to prominance in the late 50's with his unique twangy style. He used to come over with other American stars ie Roy Orbison, Ray Charles and Gene Pitney .We could go and see them at the Cov theatre. In the days when you got 3 of 4 acts cost you £5.Great times being in at the start of it all

Ha ha! I have heard of him chap. Was posing the question to Rob!

Even if you've not heard of him, the name Duane Eddy just screams 50's Rock n Roll.

I was first in pubs on a Friday night as s 17 year old in 1989. Even then prices were relatively cheap. 4 pints of piss was generally our limit and could get those and chips to walk home with for £5.

Crikey! How could I have forgotten - I saw Bo Diddley at Birmingham Town Hall around 1991.

Aye 1s10d when I were a lad 72-73 underage of course probably a bitter before larger struck in 76 !
My first pint (underage of course!), was in the Summerland Tavern on the Butts. Cost the equivalent of about 9p in new money! Tasted bloody horrible though! 😂

Could have sworn as a youngster that he was South African, which confused me how he had played in the Ryder Cup. But you live and learn - Dutch father hence the name, but English through and through. Six Ryder Cups! Died the day before his 76th birthday.
