The Lightning Seeds were good. Loved Foos last night. Another good show from Tom Grennan too. Were Texas any good yesterday? might go back and watch.

I watched Lightning Seeds last night, brilliant set! You forget just how many good songs they had. Sweet look from Ian Broudie as they started "Life of Riley" (which some older readers will remember as the music between the goals on Match of the Day) as Ian looked at the guitarist...who is his son Riley, whom the song was written about when he was a small child! "Lucky You" and "Sense" also brilliant.

They of course gave in to the mass expectation and "reluctantly" played "Three Lions" (thankfully with no guest stars) and it went down really well, as you'd expect.

Surprise guests The Pretenders with Johnny Marr on guitar. His guitar style is so distinctive that I recognised the sound before I saw his face. Makes you wonder if wires hadn't got crossed with the "Blossoms/Astley does the Smiths" guest slot and he was meant to be in that one..

Tom Grennan was alright. His backing vocalist is very very good. Lots of young girls in the crowd who clearly adore him, including 2 at the front with a banner saying "Bedworth Isn't Shit"!

To the geezer dancing on someone's shoulders that was caught on camera wearing a purple Coventry away kit-
1) Who are ya?
2) Who was the poor sod whose shoulders you were on-the bearer seemed to be struggling!

Guns n Roses need to sack their sound engineer
They're drowning Axl out.

They're getting stick online, but everyone needs to remember what a miracle it is that Axl Rose and Slash are still alive! And Axl looks delighted to be there, which he never used to do.

Axl Rose looks in good nick when you consider at one point he was so fat he tried to get his photos deleted from the entire internet

Whichever year Janet Jackson was on it was similar, she was flying through all the hits and had the dance routines down pat but you couldn't hear a single word she was singing

Does Dave Grohl just live at Glastonbury now?

This is raising my hopes that he will join Queen's of the Stone Age on stage. Probably on guitar.

I thought the guns and roses performance was far better than I thought it would be

Slash was belting it out like we’d gone back 30 years.

Rose has performed rarely over the years and at least seemed more stable. The sound wasn’t great but live it would have been fine. The only thing that disturbed me was his face. His plastic surgeon seemed to have produced a hybrid of David Van Day and Eddie Izzard. His teeth seemed A pure white version of Sir Les Pattersons

Some unfair comments for GnR across tinterweb for their set in general, for what was just an unfortunate start.

Really enjoyed Cat Stevens earlier …some great memories

And Blondie…a bit of a cross between embarrassment and awe. Go Debbie Harry aged 77

Only saw a backstage song but that was good. Lot's of political lyrics. I think he had a lyric something about his car "white on the outside, black on the inside like Michael Jackson" which made me laugh.

I see Dave Grohl played drums for a Pretenders song, increasing the chances that he might drum on a Queens of the Stone Age one or two! Instead he'll probably be one of Elton's 4 guests for, ooh, say a cover of Pinball Wizard of something rocky with an Elton link.

Best band I've seen footage of probably Viagra Boys on the Park Stage. Great lyrics, great show, sense of humour, good punkish sound. Maybe the biggest -definitely the best-moshpit.

Saw a bit of Shame last night who were also very punk and quite good-lacked the subtlety and style of Viagra Boys. I'd have liked them if I was a teenager now. Also saw a song by Jockstrap who are probably the most mis-named band of all time-they were spacey electronic and far too pretty for a name that sounds like they would have supported Motorhead!
