Looking to buy a gift for someone as an investment for them, only a couple of hundred quids worth. Do anyone know what's the best way to buy scrap gold at the best price? Are there any super reliable websites or shops that people use? Much appreciated

Solid gold half sovereigns are about £315

Nice little investment.

Buy some jewellery from an antique shop. Generally just above scrap value and no VAT.

No VAT on investment gold anyhow.

Antique jewellery is a good shout though....most old gold craft is pure......its no good searching in a city as too many savvy folk about...but olde worlde backwards places with charity shops are a charm for this sort of bargain....

I found myself in budleigh salterton earlier this summer.... got about 400 quid worth of jewellery and vinyl and a vintage camera for 65 quid.....all while the wife and kids were in the queue at the ice cream parlour.
