Never felt rhe CBS was home

Last few seasons it has felt MORE like home, but still lacked something for me, despite the brillaint seasons and atmospheres

But the CCFC branding all.over the concourses, the stadium owners listening to fans in improvements such as cleaning the place, however basic

And also the atmospheres, the memories we're starting to make there, and the journey we've been on there

I think I've finally fell in love with the place

Careful we may start to agree with you! It is true though that since covid it has felt like a proper home ground, more so since the stadium sale.

Not so sure . CBS is growing on me bar than parking and getting away after the game . HR was something else for a lot of reasons, good and bad . The walk up to HR was brilliant. The pubs from the silver sword, brew and baker Vauxhall, sky blue tavern and strikers bar . Nothing better on match day .

Everything about the match day experience is just better and more engaging. A proper fan zone, bars and food stalls all along the east stand with a DJ playing loads of ska/two tone music, more signage in the concourses and outside, a swanky new (and more importantly, permanent!) club shop etc.

Infinitely better than it used to be and really feels like home, chuck in the existing atmosphere which has now spread further around the ground and an anthem playing just before KO and it’s actually a really enjoyable day out!

If I was being greedy, I’d like them to stick a badge in the spot above the shop where the outline of Wasps one is, and some kind of sign saying “Coventry City Football Club” somewhere visible. But despite that, can’t fault it these days!

Today's fans in Highfield Road would have made it more intimidating than the arena currently..

Also , the matchday experience was better at HR around the stadium

Although atm we've outgrown highfield Road with how many we get through the do
Yes if you like a shitty, squeezed seated stadia. HR was better when we had the Kop

Often wondered if the CBS had tye same proportion of terracing as HR had what the crowd capacity would be .

Pint in the Brewer, walk up to the ground with the atmosphere building all around you, close to the pitch in the West End, banging atmosphere particularly at night and at Christmas, turning over Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U, Villa, West Ham in the LC semi - hard to top that. Maybe the CBS in the prem but I'm not sure that the HR vibe will ever leave me

crowds of 38, 40 and 42k. Down to 20500 wasn’t it.

Take out Rows A to K? In the North and South stands from O up to the top would be the seated seated area.

Maybe up to 40k capacity then? Anything else may require remodeling the stadium.

The only one that was decent was the sky blue tavern but only when it was The Mercers , Vauxhall closed early 90s. So tell me if we had stayed at Highfield Road which pubs would you go to?

It’s hardly surprising when there was only 6-7000 rattling around in the dark days of Sisu that there was no real affinity with the Ricoh/CBS.
We are now averaging 25,000 and everyone is pulling in the same direction-what a difference that makes.
Wonder if people still prefer St Andrews…..

You’ll never beat HR, but we are living in different times now. The whole match day experience has improved significantly this season I will give them that. But getting to the ground is a right pain in the arse

I can vouch for that 🤦‍♂️

now you’re asking 🤔 probably everyone from the cov cross down Gosford road. I can’t remember the names but there was one at the top main road from the Vauxhall that was good

HR gone but not forgotten for about 40% of our support it’s just part of ccfc history.
It’s not so much the ground I miss but it’s location which was perfect.

People forget that HR feel , but I don't.. used to get a knot in my stomach every time we played and that walk upto the stadium from town etc .. just a special place

Today's fans would make HR unbelievably hard to play at for away teams

The accoustics are better at the CBS. In fact, the acoustics in the corner are as good as it can get.

There were some good times with decent atmospheres before, but it really started to feel like home from that first game back late comeback win v Forest.

Ever since then it's been great really and a bit of a fortress.

Yeah I know a few people who still hate the location. They class it as Beduff rather than Coventry. Was also a better pub crawl to Highfield road. Atmosphere wise though I have to admit the CBS is better as at Highfield road only the West End used to get behind them.
