doesn't look like anything to be upset about, thats pretty much the absolute best scenario we could have hoped for regarding the seats isn't it?

I must thank my lucky stars. The whole thing is shit and says to me we just can't stay here long term.

Eastwood on the radio said he is bowled over by the welcome Coventry has given wasps. There is tremendous excitement at premier rugby coming to the city .

You spoiled my punch line - the only people he's spoken to is Steve and Jan and they swooned at his feet.

Didn't realise Norwich was in Coventry-Norwich are helped by having no competition whatsoever for almost 40 miles.

The location is irrelevant to the point I'm making, as I'm sure you know.

Norwich City, with no competition within 40 miles as you rightly point out, had an average attendance of just 14k in the late '90s, before embarking upon a scheme where schoolchildren were given thousands of free tickets.

Well the council and the Higgs rolled out the welcome mat and have even helped promote their matches. Very hospitable-if only they'd shown such gestures towards the city's own clubs.

Yeah giving away thousands of free tickets and then bragging about the inflated crowd isn't something to be proud of. It hasn't been demonstrated that it's worked with Wasps as the future hasn't happened! You can also throw in Norwich already being based in the city of their namesake.

The imminent collapse of CCFC and CRFC due to Wasps hasn't happened either but your constantly ranting about it.

So finishing off the building of the Ricoh by CCC and Higgs bailing out CCFC by buying their ACL share were not positive gestures.
Both kept CCFC head above water.

You lads have realy got to get over the idea that ,together with the cov telegraph and the council, Wasps are bent on world domination.
Mind you, if Nick Eastwood turns up at the Squirrel tonight stroking a white cat ,I'm off

He has met The Trust to be fair.

He has also met, Steve Waggot, Steve Brookfield, Sandra Garlick, Coventry Rugby, 46 of the 48 junior Rugby clubs within 10 miles of Coventry, he has also met Steven Pressley and some of his coaching staff.

I've said it will be bad for both clubs.

Both kept CCFC head above water.

Both have been nullified by recent events.

That's not really a well thought out response and factually incorrect post. I understand your frustration but this post doesn't sit well with me.

Hasn't happened yet. Using your logic, my post about free tickets improving attendances in the future is as valid as yours about the negative effects on CCFC & CRFC.

Disagree, I think CCC have shown contempt towards both the rugby and football clubs with their actions. Higgs were roped in but found tying balloons to cars a better use of their time. The way this deal was done stinks and neither party emerges with credit from it.

Yes its called diplomacy. I know as a CCFC fan it is a alien concept to us, but apparently its quite effective.

Mind you, I think our bullying and hostility tactics produce much better outcomes don't they?

You have cited a precedent that is incomparable in terms of a) area, b) sport and c) history of the club.

I'd like to say I am surprised but unfortunately I am not, I am disgusted that so many people feel they need to go and support a franchise Club but not Clubs that matter to the community in Cov Rugger or CCFC..

Yes I certainly see your point and I'm not a massive council fan but they and Higgs have helped our club ccfc immensely. Last few years maybe not as much but then I put this down to ours owners. If we had any other owners (within reason) we would of had bought ACL and be the leaseholders that wasps have got.

Don't worry folks.....We all know the Ricoh factor will kick in after the 1st game.....Therefore, next game will be less than 3000.....

PS: I hope its 0-3, it fucking pisses down all match, the toilets flood, all the 4x4's get keyed in the car parks & the real ales off.....

......wankers.

Who are wankers exactly? The people going to watch, as that's how it reads and the post above from Greggs. You see, I know people that are going and to try and make you understand their thinking into why, I'll tell you their reasons. Firstly, my stepdad. He was born in Lincs and (unfortunately) supports Leicester but circumstance meant he has lived in Coventry for a large part of his life. He has no affiliation with any Coventry team but is looking forward to going along to watch top flight rugby matches on his doorstep so does that make him a wanker? Another one is a good mate of mine who was born and bred in Coventry but is a Chelsea lad (has been since he was a kid because of a family member) and as he has no affiliations with Coventry teams is also looking forward to watching top flight rugby in Coventry which is as I believe his choice and he is going along to watch with some mates from work and some are CCFC fans and 1 or 2 even went to Sixfields to watch CCFC. I wonder if they will be called scabs again? but this time from a completely different sets of individuals.

Some people just can't see past SISU, any action which is seen as a blow to SISU is a victory in there eyes and should be supported regardless of the action taken and of wider consequences of said action.

Many of us were disgusted that so many (or maybe not in this case) felt the need to go and support a move to Northampton, but that was their choice apparently and so shouldn't be criticised for it.

I have defended the Higgs before with their £6.5m going some way to keeping the club afloat. The idea of a jointly owned Ricoh by the football club and the council was a good one and it could have been a major thing for the city to shout about. But council leadership changes as do the aims and objectives of the Higgs and I feel both parties have seriously let themselves down in recent events and that cancels out the good things that were done further back. This decision was taken with a very short termist approach that has landed a community asset in the hands of a club owned by someone of a very similar nature to our own Joy.

This is not the same as exempting CCFC and SISU from blame, far from it.
