ISIS Extremists Try To Infiltrate Coventry Temple (1 Viewer)

Surely they are trying to convert the Sikhs to a completely different religion? The same as if they went into a Church or a Synagogue and tried it? The minute they start going on about allah and mohammed they would stand out like a sore thumb?

Must admit I don't know much about the Sikh religion etc, but the couple of Sikhs I have known that if anything goes off (whether it's people kicking off or people struggling) then they do chip in and are very tight knit communities.

Am I reading it right that it was something to do with the charity commission and loads of accusations about a few things:

Commission issues warning to Sikh temple after police called to disturbances

Seems a bit strange. Surely if the police get called out every week to ISIS trying to take over and violence and threats it would have been swarming with armed police and terror squads?

Geographically, the temple is slap bang in between two areas, one being a mosty Sikh area and one a mostly Muslim area. No idea if it is some turf war or something, but I do know that just up that street there were anti-terror raids carried out about a month or two ago.

True, I guess people will know more about it. I don't see what ISIS have to do with:

Undertaking unauthorised expenditure on activities and failing to take adequate steps to address the risks posed to charity’s assets.

1. The trustees have failed to work collectively and to implement agreed decisions.

“2. They have also failed to make decisions which are in the interests of the charity only.

“3. The trustees have failed to manage charity property responsibly or in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.

Surely you just don't let the people preaching ISIS and extremism in? Just get an intercom system fitted or something.

I'm guessing they just stayed quiet and were handing out leaflets, the fight incident was maybe when they got confronted. I really don't understand any other reason why they would be allowed to stay in there for more than 5 minutes.

It's still random why they would rock up to a Sikh Temple to push Muslim Extremism? Unless there is a form of Sikh Extremism they were trying to push and get across? I always thought Sikhs and Muslims didn't get on.

Lesson 1 - CC4L isn't your typical Sikh, they're generally normal, well balanced people.

It reminds me of a joke I heard once about a black guy being fed up with whenever something happens to a black guy / by a black guy his white friends always want to ask his thoughts. Then it ends up being something about gays so he phones his gay mate to ask what he thinks about it.

Can't remember which comedian it was.

Anyway, Sikhs carry big massive knives and swords. They are probably much better people to piss off if you wanted to.

they don't and this year is the 70th anniversary of partition so a few old wounds have been opened. I'd say they were taking a risk campaigning at a Sikh temple - maybe this is a new twist on the suicide bomber - the suicide leafleter.

Seems an odd one. I can only assume that the individuals trying to take over the temple have no understanding of the Sikh religion. Mind you Islamic extremist don't have an understanding of their own religion so maybe it's not that surprising.

I blame the nazis or is it nazi's or nazi?

Or shall we use the name National Socialists for historic accuracy?

What an odd story. Although its in the CT so how much of it is accurate is up for debate.

Seems to me the Sikhs did not do a lot wrong here. Some ISIS nutters tried to attempt to take over so they got the police involved and the takeover was unsuccessful.

The stuff from the charity commission seems a bit harsh unless there's some major details missing from the story or two stories are being merged together.

sounds like 2 stories merged to me to make one confusing one.

Looks like the ISIS stuff was a bit sloppy.

Wasn't too hard, as everybody on here thought it didn't sound right.

Got removed pretty quickly. Also from reading his twitter he spoke to one person about ISIS. Now I'm not a journalist but surely you need to get things confirmed from a second source or you can have any idiot saying what they feel like.

I blame North Korea.

Or shall we use the name Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for accuracy?

(See people, democracy is bad)

And if you do, you could mention that the word Socialist was put in to attract people away from the communist party etc and that the people who represented the socialist elements in the party were purged during the night of the long knives.

The unions were taken over by a Nazi organization and their leaders imprisoned.

This put business in a stronger position.

But they did introduce May Day as the workers holiday..

Still, a lot different to the socialists you are sneakily having a dig at.

Sikhs are no friends of Muslims, it is preposterous that anyone thought there was any connection whatsoever with Islamic extremism.
