Myself and many hundreds joined together to see the legends from many decades down
the casino last night. I would have loved it if Robins had made all the squad attend and asked every single one, "Do you think any of you will be standing up on that stage in 40
or fifty years time getting cheered to the rafters"?
Yesterday was all about Ernie Machin a player not as flamboyant as some he played with.
What you got from Ernie was work ethic, very rarely giving the ball away and playing for 90 minutes.
Speaking to some of the former players they are very sad to see our club in the position we find ourselves in.

Before I get the we don,t live in the past, unlike some of the quitters we have heard
on this forum I will never quit, have been going since my first game in 1957 and still have a season ticket and have got my ticket for Oldham next week.
All we all want at the moment is players like Ernie and give your all for the cause like
all of us loyal supporters do week in week out.
