Imo part of the quiet re-organisation at the club, doubt he will be the last.

The last of the first team coaches who aren't ex pros?

Wonder if Robins wants to add more specialism like he did with Lawrence replacing Farndon

It wouldn't surprise me if he was pissed off that so few of the players in the "Professional Development" were ever given the opportunity to make it to the first team, and you were either a first team player or not.

Not sure about that, you only deserve a chance with the first team if you’re good enough. The first team managers job is to put together competitive team/squad, players like Eccles have shown they can compete and will be part of the squad going forward

I do wonder if he thought he was Mr Big after that match or went against Robins wishes, as we have never really seen him since that game
Went against his wishes was my assumption too. No idea if any truth in that of course.

I think there have been a few issues behind the scenes and unfortunately Luke has left , I don’t think it’s been a fall out though
Jason Farndon and Luke were instrumental in getting us through the last few years and have brought a few players through , James Maddison being one
The introduction of Dennis Lawrence and the hiring of John Dempster both with good backgrounds have been vital in our next stage

That would be a decent move.
The club's statement was a bit curt. None of the usual ".....thanks and wish him well........"

“We would like to thank Luke for his time at the Club and the hard work and dedication that he has shown to the Sky Blues over the years.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Luke the very best of luck for the future.”

Is that a subsequent statement?

I only saw the tweet which simply confirmed he had left

Think it will be notts county and if so he will have a good knowledge of players from his under 23s stint at city.
Thought it was strange he wasn't seen towards the close of the season.

When he went missing I suspected he may have told the club he was leaving and was asked to go on gardening leave
Although he's gone to a close rival you wouldn't have thought it was a conflict with us as he'll be working with their women's side
What do you think?

A step up and I’d have thought a wage up too. Lots of investment in the ladies game right now. A surprising move but probably a very good career move right now.
I bet the bonus’s are good😉
