He literally just started every single game for the League Two Champions. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. This isn't us signing Peter Ramage, Darius Henderson or Stephen Hunt from out of nowhere. It's bringing in an experienced head who knows the league and what it takes to get out of it. Something we desperately needed.

But he is any good? He was shite for us before. Start every game and lose every game isn't much use either is it.

Taking their sweet time to announce it, maybe he's changed his mind having realised McSheffrey's not here any more.

I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea, but after seeing such an inept team last season without any bite, recruiting someone who is that sort of player, knows how to lead a team, and is coming from the existing Champions of the league we are going down to isn't a bad thing. At the very least his knowledge and experience of trying to get out of it will be a benefit, if nothing else.

I always remember the Doyle goal, but that first one's a bit good too isn't it? Holds off the man, turns on a sixpence, straight in the corner. Bosh!

I see Gilbert is taking a hammering for trying to jump into CCFC's tweets with the links to the telegraph.

I'd do that every time if I could be arsed.

Edit, I would do if the Telegraph hadn't been block happy :emoji_cold_sweat:

Hammer Gilbert? Will you at least buy him a drink first?

Nah, he's from Canley. He should buy me one to say thanks.*

*I will just add that this is clearly not serious, just I know that people seem to have issues understanding when things are serious and when things aren't.

definitely not unhappy about this, slight reservation about his age, but plenty of players continue to perform well at older. The team has needed someone of his ilk for several years. Felt in the past he got unfair criticism and when he didn't play the team missed him. But as said above it is what he can bring to the team, in L2 that is important

should be able to show a few of our younger midfielders the dark arts and street smart they often lack.
Then again, Tudgay was supposed to show our younger strikers how to score goals.

Bar their GK he played the most minutes (as captain) in the best team in the league that we will be playing in. I cant understand how its even a remotely bad signing.

For the people saying he was crap last time round, he left us, what, 8 years ago? why can't he have improved in 8 years?

He left us 6 years ago whilst we were a Championship club. We got relegated the year after....

Why do the club keep giving me reasons to want to boycott!!!:mad: They should be giving me reasons to want to go!!

One part of one of the poorest midfield pairings I've seen in my time supporting CCFC!

Best thing Page did in his time was knock this tool out!

Doyle and Hughes were nowhere near that bad.
