Just seen this:

Slade also confirmed to the Observer that he is still taking a look at a couple of players on trial which could bolster his squad.

One of those players has Premier League experience and a reputation as being a goalscorer in English football, but it is understood that any deal remains some way off.

Russell Slade blessed with more attacking options for home clash against relegation rivals Swindon Town

Odemwingie? Dont think he has score loads and loads has he in England?

We see these stories every week with, more often than not, nothing coming of it. We don't have time to piss around like this

That's the thing isn't it. Fine if we were a couple of points behind and there was time on our side, but this is 9 points behind and a large number of wins needed in a small remaining amount of games.

'Some way off' will probably be too late to make any difference.

I think it's more paper talk than anything, nothing really to talk about this week as we've not had a midweek game. I'm sure many clubs in our situation regularly get players in to look at to see if they can add anything, it just so happens ones played in the prem and scored a few the papers make something more of it due to the lack of stories.
