Reeson Promises Out With The Old And In With The New

As promised by new Coventry City manager Reeson, He has decided to get rid of a few players, before bringing in new fresh faces.

First to leave The Sky Blues was Fans Favourite 'Michael Mifsud'. The club managed to receive a 1.5m fee for the pint sized striker, from newly promoted Hull City.

Next shown the door was Goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos, The greek goalkeeper joined Crewe for a mere 150k.

After getting rid of 1 goalkeeper it was left to Reeson to use his scouts and pull in a 3rd choice keeper. With his scouts searching the U.K, they came across an ex coventry keeper in Luke Steele.

20th July - Pre Season - Nuneaton Vs Coventry City

First game under Reeson the Sky Blues take on local club Nuneaton Borough,
After getting to know his players a little Reeson decided to mix the squad up with a bit of Youth and experience.

The game in the end was easy for Coventry, winning the game 5-0
Morrison, Best, Beuzelin, Mckenzie and Eastwood were all on the score sheet, which was pleasing to see.

The only thing not pleasing was seeing Michael Doyle walk of the pitch with a sprained wrist. So there's a chance he could miss a few weeks pre season training.

Fortune Signing For Sky Blues

After a few weeks speculation it was announced ex Man Utd star Quinton Fortune would eventually join Coventry. The player was given a work permit and can now join up with his new team mates.

23rd July - Pre Season Tour Of Turkey - Vs Mersin I.Y

After the 5-0 thumping on Nuneaton, Reeson decided to do the same sort of mix with youth and experience, but using different players from the start.

After 12 mins it wasn't looking good for City when the Turkish side went 1-0 up. But just 4 minutes later it was 1-1 Stephan Wright with the goal.
29 mins into the game it was 2-1 to the Sky Blues, New signing Beuzelin getting his 2nd pre season goal. He was there again to slot in his second of the game on the 53rd minute. Sub Leon Best rounded of the scoring with a great effort on the 62nd minute to complete a comfortable game for Cov.

Seyfo Soley seals contract with City.

Strong Gambian defender Soley sealed a a move to Coventry after impressing on trial during the friendly between Mersin and Coventry. Soley can also play in the holding role.

30th July - Pre Season Tour - Vs Buyuksehir

With only a few weeks left and this being the last game until the big kick off
Reeson decided to pick a team that he thought could challenge for honors come the end of the season.

After struggling to come to grips with the strong turkish side, it was Coventry who took the lead, Freddy Eastwood got his goal on the 38th minute.

It all turned sour though after kick off when they pulled it back to 1-1, and then took the lead to 2-1, and then notched a 3rd just before the end.

All in all a mixed tour to turkey, but big hopes for the first game against Reading at the Ricoh.

Saturday 11th August - Coventry Vs Reading - 3pm Kick off

Recently relegated Reading take on a new look Coventry side, with some a new Manager, a few new players coventry would be looking to take the game to Reading in this home encounter.

Unfortunately it seemed as though the Coventry players minds and football skills were left back in Turkey. Before they knew it, they were 3-0 down and looking things were looking glum. After half time, they came out an attacked Reading Better but still no end product. The game ended 4-0 to Reading.

Reeson had this to say " I would like to apologize to the fans that were at the game, we did not perform to our full potential, and trust me, the players will turn up next game".

Saturday 18th August - Coventry Vs Ipswich - Ricoh

Coventry should be able to hold out Ipswich today and seal a win, Reeson has kept the same Starting line up, after the 4-0 drumming by Reading.

5 Minutes into the game the Sky Blues took the lead, Freddy Eastwood scored his first goal of the season in the league. 12 mins gone, Morrison was hacked down in the area, and was awarded a penalty. Eastwood supplied the finish. After 25 mins Scott Dann Nodded into his own net only to be cancelled out by a Beuzellin Goal before half time. After the Half things got better for Coventry and Eastwood who bagged his hat-trick, and made it 4-1. Alan Lee managed to squeeze one under Westwoods Legs but it wasn't enough for Ipswich cause Eastwood's replacement Best nodded home to make it 5-2. Lee scored another for ipswich in the 90th minute but it was far to late for Ipswich and it ended 5-3 to Coventry.

Saturday 25th - Vs Bristol City - Away

The game was a very dull game for Coventry fans, and players alike. It ended 2-0 to Bristol City with Emad Moteb scoring 2 good goals from outside the box.
Coventry will look to pick them selfs up again in there next game against Burnley away from home.

Frank Songo'o became a coventry player today, the player has signed a year long loan from Portsmouth with a view to permanent transfer. Songo'o looks likely to go straight into the side to give them pace and skill down the flank.

Beuzelin Bags 2 But City Struggle Again - Vs Burnley

Coventry drew 2-2 with a struggling Burnley Side, Beuzelin played well as did Leon Best, but the defense let the side down again conceded to cheap goals.
if things do not get better soon, it will be hard to see Coventry competing at the end of the season. They currently lie in 17th, on 4 points, in 4 games.

Beuzelin Does It Again For City - Vs Plymouth

A Hat Trick from Attacking Midfielder Beuzelin won Coventry a tight home encounter with Plymouth. Coventry went 3-0 up with Beuzelins hat trick before half time, but a few harsh words said to Plymouth and they came out all guns blazing. They pulled it back to 3-3 with 2 Goals from Steven Maclean and a goal from Rory Fallon. But it was to be there day and a threw ball to Freddy Eastwood was finished perfectly.
