Players being released; Possible targets (1 Viewer)

Elliott Ward, Tom Adeyemi and Korey Smith and Marc Tierny from Norwich, Jerome Thomas and Marc Antione Fortune(not confirmed) form WBA, Noel Hunt from Reading, Rory Delap from Stoke, and more to come. A number of good quality PL players leaving for free in the summer. A lot from The Champ too. Would you take any of those players? There are more but only included players we may have a chance at. Any others that you would like to come here for free, put it in a comment, cus if SISU stay, which i have an awful feeling they will, free signings is all we will have when we get outta this embargo

We are in an embargo with not a hint or clue as to when we (sisu) are going to submit any accounts to enable the embargo to be lifted. Why ? What is the retention of these accounts achieving. Or would it prove Holdings and Ltd ARE seperate. Which accounts need to be submitted to the Football League, Holdings, Ltd or both. If the administator Mr Appleton is now running the business known as Ltd why can't he submit accounts and get this embargo lifted ? So much doesn't add up in this saga.

May have a chance at? Ward? Hunt? Thomas? We've just finished 16th in L1.

Brilliant.......Perhaps we could tempt scholes and Becks out of retirement too.

To go through the players in the OP:

Elliot Ward - Couldn't afford wages
Tom Adeyami - Can see him signing at Brentford
Korey Smith - Couldn't see him being succesful here
Marc Tierny - Was a good L1 LB, can see him being signed up in the Championship
Jerome Thomas - Couldn't afford his wages
Marc Antoine Fortune - Couldn't afford his wages
Noel Hunt - Couldn't afford his wages
Rory Delap - Couldn't afford his wages

Yes we are. Everyone nows who Coventry city are. So you're gonna say that Notts County or Walsall are a bigger club? We're more well known than any of them

Notts County were invited by Juventus to open their stadium. Preston North End have a rich history far greater than ours. That's two more famous teams for starters.

Wolves will be the biggest club in league 1, closely followed by us and Sheffield utd.

I admit Wolves are on our level and will get a lot of good players, but if PH4 comes in, we have money and the good prospects. Thats what 99% of aging players want, cash to retire with and one last shot at being someone again

Wolves are more than on our level. Particularly recently.

Forget about signing anyone!!! Our squad for next season will look something like this if SISU stay:

Dunn - Burge
Clarke - Phillips
Edge - youth player
Martin - Willis
Adams - Haynes
Thomas - youth player
Barton - youth player
Fleck - youth player
Moussa - youth player
Old has been - youth player
Falkirk striker - youth player
Wilson - youth player

They will sell Baker, Murphy, Clarke, Christie etc to "fund Highfield two". That will inevitably never be built due to lack of funds....SISU will then blame everyone else for their failings. You can write the script where they are concerned.

What a pointless discussion, operation conference is in full swing, these players are way above SISU's ambitions.

We are the best known name in League One - for all the wrong reasons. There is so much negative press around the club now that no decent player is going to touch us with a barge pole for a very long time. Even if Haskell does come in, buys the stadium and resolves everything we are still gonna be tainted for a good few seasons. We would need to prove that we are stable and financially sound before we become attractive to players again. Added to which FPP will dictate what we can spend on wages too so we couldn't bribe greedy players with high wages even if we had the money.

We have no choice now but to develop our academy players through to the first team and pick up the odd Conference/League 2 player who looks a prospect and hope its enough to see us promoted in a few seasons time. IF that happens then we might be able to start shopping in Harrods again, until then we are definitely confined to poundland.

Basically the 1 glory day we've had in the last 40 odd years has long gone. We are no longer a big club . We are now an average league 1 team with no stadium , under embargo , fuckwit owners etc etc etc . What player in there right mind would even think about signing for us. Kids and league 2 next season . 2000 average gate. And the slide into obscurity continues.

Liam tried to make out that we're wildly famous and nobody is more well-known, which is the positive yet no less deluded flipside to the idea that the world of football is laughing at our stadium antics.
