Thought Grimmer's passing and crossing was awful in that first half. Would mark him down, but then he scored a wonder goal.

Special mention to Doyle and Kelly, both of which I thought were great and also to Tom Bayliss who was excellent in that second half.

Worthy winners.

I’d just turned to my Dad and said “Grimmers having a poor game” the ten seconds later he scored. Thought he was poor before that.

He was fantastic today. Hats off to the little Irishman (I have no idea if he's Irish, but Liam Kelly sounds Irish ).

Yeah, Kelly really stepped up today. Like a man possessed. Hate shoving bayliss out wide but fair play to kelly today. MOTM for me (and maybe Willis for that opener !!!)

Burge-7: Commanded his area well again, couldn't do anything about the goal and handled a couple of regulation shots.
Grimmer-8: Poor in general and probably a 5, but exposed by our formation with no real right midfielder in front of him, but then scored THAT goal, with his left foot as well!
Stokes-7: Defensively solid, as he has been since he came back into the side. Showed vital leadership and commitment, too.
Willis-9: WHAT a goal! Fantastic first touch, glorious bending finish. There aint many lower league defenders with technique like that! Also defended well.
Hyam-7: One slip that didn't come to anything anyway but otherwise solid.
Kelly-9: Dog of war, tackled strongly, closed down, re-cycled possession intelligently.
Dolye-9: Dog of war alongside Kelly, dictated play, led brilliantly, lifted the cup with passion. This is his club, he loves CCFC and the fans and is the leader we've been missing for the past few years.
Bayliss-8: Kept quiet by Exeter defence first half but still showed glimpses. Showed his class more second half with great work in the build up to Grimmer's goal and that glorious, hip-skanking, George Best-style run and shot.
Shipley-9: Deserved his goal, looked the man most likely to score first half with his runs into scoring positions, battled and made runs off the ball all game.
Biamou-6: Thought he struggled a bit today, Exeter defence had the measure of him.
McNulty-9: Fantastic movement off the ball and creativity despite not getting on the scoresheet himself. Two assists and influential throughout, deserved a goal himself for the his overall play but snatched at his shots as he admitted himself, otherwise it would have been a 10!

Clarke-Harris-7: Looked quite lively when he came on with one great run in particular.
Reid-7: Kept the ball intelligently.
Ponticelli-6: Buzzed around and closed down but didn't really get involved in his short time on the pitch.

Not quite as good a performance as the brilliant Notts C second leg, but that was possibly the best I've seen for 20 years, so hard to top! Still a great team performance with three Roy of the Rovers goals The 24 pass move in the first half leading to the shot was liquid football. Can't wait for next season now! This is a launchpad to go on to bigger and greater things.

Think I saw a different game to others. I thought Grimmer was commendable and did try and create things. For me one of the better performers.
I am not a fan of him partticularly but he tried to provide us an outlet in first half.

Great goal too.

Grimmer was poor before and after his goal
Still who cares

It was a well-deserved win for us, even in the first half when it was a stalemate, we certainly looked like the team most likely to do something. This said, first half we struggled to deal with Stockley's aerial ability and I was worried the longer the game went on, the more likely they would nick a goal.

Our team really is epitomised with Kelly and Doyle in the middle, they dominated the midfield yesterday and really protect that defence too. McNulty got two good assists and deservedly got man of the match. Hats off to Shipley too, despite a couple of bad touches and passes, he was denied fro what would've been his second by a fantastic save from their GK.

The team played awesomely and got the job done, 10s all around!

Didn’t realised how well McNulty played until I watched the game again when I got back, but for me best player Michael Doyle his passing and total all round play in the sapping conditions of a sunny Wembley and going as strong in the 90th minute as he was in the 9th for a 37 year old was unbelievable.
Will also mention Dominic Hyam, what a player he’s become. Gary Gillespie Mark 2 !

Willis scored a great goal, but I was very concerned in the first half when he was being bullied by Stockley almost every high ball

Huge second half performance after a typical big game 1st half from both teams of half chances. Thankfully we came out the blocks fastest and who’d of thought Jordan Willis could strike a ball like that, at first I thought it was Biamou’s goal the way he received the ball and got it out of his feet with one controlling touch was that of a striker as was Jack Grimmers goals that set us on our way and sealed it with a nicely worked goal for Shipley provided by McNulty.

I was concerned McNulty was gonna burn himself out quickly with his typical work rate in the 1st half, but he managed his game better as it went on to last the occasion.

Nice touch from MR to give Ponticelli a deserved run out at Wembley and giving the star man McNulty the standing ovation he’s very much deserved

Pick of the players for a special mention are Burge, Hyam, Kelly, Doyle, Shipley, and McNulty. The rest played well and stood up to the occasion too

Liam Kelly was my man of the match, unbelievable performance from him and probably went under the radar considering others performances and goals scored. (just seen the replies above, happy to see it didn't go under the radar :) )

Also, special mentions to Willis and Hyam dealt with the Exeter tactics superbly.

I'm not going to mark .
Significant to me was the increase in energy levels and tempo about our play once the first went in.
Released from tension /nerves or playing within themselves?
First half it seemed noticable during extended stoppages our focus dipped while theirs heightened.
Fortunately half time brought out the opposite!
